BOOK CORNER

I like to mix things up on my blog so I thought I would share some of my favourite books and authors with you. I’m one of those people that can go without reading for a month or two, but then I can read two or three books in one week. I normally have to really get into a book and then I tend to get through it quite quickly. Having done English Literature at A Level and University, reading was a chore at times, but I’ve started enjoying it all over again!

I’m a chick-lit lover at heart. Paige Toon is my all time favourite author and I’ve read all of her books; I love how all the stories and characters are subtly interlinked and you get a little insight into them in other stories. I love the great story lines she provides every time and how there’s always a lovely ending to look forward to. If you are looking for a fun, lovely holiday book, then Paige Toon is for you.

I also love a good dystopian novel, which is why I whizzed through Lauren Oliver’s trilogy (Delirium, Pandemonium and Requiem). I love the storyline so much; the general idea is that their society believe love is a disease and they are trying to stop people from falling in love. There’s a lot more to it than that but you get the gist. I loved all three of the books and I think it would make an amazing film series! I know they tried to make a tv series but it was a bit of a flop apparently!

One book that you can’t see here that sticks with me is Into The Darkest Corner by Elizabeth Haynes, which is an amazing crime- thriller novel. I don’t normally read books like this but I had heard great things about it and I just loved it. It was quite creepy and hard hitting at times but I loved finding out more about the main character and the reasons behind her OCDs etc. I would definitely recommend if you fancy trying something a bit different.

The last book I want to talk about is Me Before You by JoJo Moyes. There’s really just something about this book that stuck with me and I think it was an amazing book. Most people banged on about how amazing The Fault in Our Stars is (which I enjoyed and loved the movie) but I found this book far more emotional and real. The unusual love story and the characters are what I loved most; I really felt it and I cannot wait for the movie to come out soon. I would really recommend this one to anyone- but remember to have some tissues at hand!

There’s lots of other authors and books I love but these are the ones that stick out for me. If you enjoyed this and would love me to continue this little series, please let me know. And if you have any recommendations from what I have talked about, I’d love to know!
