THE PERFECT EVERYDAY LIP

I wanted to write a blog post about one of my new favourite beauty purchases. Rosie Huntington Whiteley has recently created a beauty range with M&S and my eyes were immediately drawn to the copper packaging and I knew I wanted to try something from the range.

I decided to go for one of the lipsticks as I knew I would get my money’s worth out of it and I didn’t want to go too crazy by buying anything more.

I went for Camisole Blush as it’s a gorgeous dusky pink; one of my favourite shades to wear and the perfect everyday lip. This lipstick became a firm February favourite of mine and I’ve been wearing it nearly every day since I bought it. It’s lovely and moisturising and it’s not drying like other lipsticks I have. This isn't one for staying power though unfortunately; I liken it more to a pigmented lip balm really.

I am pretty tempted to try more from the range, especially the highlighter or eyeshadow stick but I may hold tight for a bit. I’d love to know in the comments if you’ve tried anything from the range!

NEW YEAR, NEW ADVENTURES

I ummed and ahhed about writing a blog post like this as I don't know if people find them a bit cliche but I wanted to reflect on 2015 and look to 2016, and I thought what better way to do it than on my little space on the internet, with you.

2015 saw a few ups and downs for me, like everyone I'm sure. I feel like 2015 was the year I began to feel a bit more grown up as Dan and I settled into our first home together in January and we've made it a whole year without killing each other! I have loved having our own place and being able to make it our personal space, although I think I may have got a bit obsessed with tidying! 2015 was filled with lots of special family moments with holidaying with Dan's family, my nephew Harry turning 1 and having a short break with my family near the end of the year. Spending time with my loved ones has continued to be my top priority. Things can change so quickly, so I like to value what I have as much as I can. I also had some great times with my closest friends and I made a friend for life this year, which has been such a special friendship to cherish.

Last year was definitely not the year for my blog or YouTube channel. 2013-2014 saw my best growth and amazing opportunities arose from my YouTube channel, but 2015 was a little harder. In previous years I had more time to spend on planning and executing content for my blog and YouTube, but with a busy full time job I started to struggle last year. I put a lot of pressure on myself as I was constantly comparing my content to all my favourite YouTubers and bloggers. Being in this little world of creativity can be so amazing and inspiring, yet it can also be very intense and intimidating. It can be so easy to see people as having the perfect life online because people only show the best bits. No ones going to Instagram that day when they sat in their PJs all day, with greasy hair and ate baked beans for dinner! 2016 will definitely be the year that I try to stop comparing my worst self with everyone's best selves.

Last year was not all bad on the YouTubing front as I got to meet new people and attend some cool events which is what really helped put everything into perspective. If I'm honest, I got very close to drawing a line under my blog and YouTube channel in 2015 as I struggled to see where it was taking me, but after having small breaks, I came to realise that it was the little community I had grown that was the most important and I still really enjoyed making videos and it's still a rewarding hobby for me. I also forget quite often how much having a blog and YouTube channel has taught me and how it has aided me build my career so 2016 will be the year that I try to push my content further to teach myself more and more.

At the end of last year I decided I needed a change and I was extremely proud that I bagged myself a new job, which I am starting the first week of January so I really feel like this new year really is a brand new start for me! I'm not going to pretend that I'm not anxious about the change as change does terrify me, but I also know that it's a good challenge for me and I think it's important to step out of your comfort zone when you get the opportunity to.

2016 will be the year that I enjoy my blog and YouTube for what it is and don't pressure myself if I struggle sometimes. It will also be another year filled with little trips, whether that be in the UK and/or abroad and I can't wait. I think it's so important to take breaks and visit new places, even if that is just in the UK. 2016 marks Dan and I's 10th anniversary which I can't quite believe so I cannot wait to celebrate that in August and spend another year living with him. I hope that I can worry a bit less in 2016, but that's just built within me so who knows if that will be achievable! Most of all in 2016 I need to remember it's important to live each day, and each week as it comes because you never know what's round the corner.

LONG TIME, NO SPEAK

Oops..where have the last few months gone? I have no better reason or excuse for my absence other than that life and working 9- 5 (.30) got rather in the way. Sometimes when you're brain is ticking away all day it's hard to make the time to sit and type away. BUT, I want to get this little blog back up and running because I've missed it! I've been inspired by some of my favourite blogs recently so I knew I wanted to start tip tapping away again.

I thought there wasn't a better place to start other than getting you up to speed on some of the highlights over the last few months (if you don't follow me on Instagram!).

Back in August, my friend Charlotte and I went along to The Bloggers Market which was the second year running. We had a lovely day filled with doughnuts and Appletiser. We got to meet the lovely Olivia and you can even see a cheeky shot of me over on Carrie's blog here

A little time before The Bloggers Market I attended my cousin's wedding and I had to share this photo as the decor was beyond gorgeous. This image would have to sum up my dream wedding. *sigh*

Back in August Dan and I celebrated our 9th anniversary and he surprised me with a trip to Norwich, one of our favourite places. I'm not sure why Norfolk holds such a special place in my heart, but it does. I love the city and I love how close to the pretty seaside you are too. If you do visit Norwich any time soon, make sure you grab an Oreo brownie from Cupcake and Co in the market..nom nom.

Last month I was lucky enough to be invited to Fleur De Force's beauty launch and it was one of the best events I've attended, bravo Feel Unique! All the ladies I spoke to were so so lovely, including Fleur herself. I had a lot of love for Jade, Chelsea, Megan and Carly that night! Check out the vlog here

Me and my best pal Charlotte became 13 year old fan girls when we went to see One Direction last month, who by the way were AMAZING. It was such a good night and the boys did good. Plus, we were super close. If you want to see us get up close and personal, watch my vlog here

I haven't particularly enjoyed the darker mornings and evenings, but I have been enjoying the fashion that Autumn brings. It's meant I can don my favourite Topshop jacket (here's a similar one) and new shirt from New Look (which I have lived in recently).

And phew, we're back up to speed as here's some pictures from last weekend when I went to London with my lovely sister and mum. We went to the Fashion and Textile museum to see the new Liberty in Fashion exhibition which was rather good. It was such a lovely day, albeit a little cold!

I'm looking forward to getting my blog back. I hope you are too. Let me know in the comments what you've been up to recently!

BEAUTY HAUL

Feel Unique were kind enough to give me a voucher recently so I decided to treat myself to a few bits and thought I would show you!

The first item on my wish list had been the Benefit Roller Lash mascara. I’ve had the mini tester for a while and I have been using it every day as I just love it. It makes my eyelashes look long, thick and curly…what could be better? Although I do find it expensive for a mascara, I think the packaging makes up for it. I love the cute chunky pink lid too.

The next item that has been on my wish list for a while is theBalm Mary Lou Manizer Luminizer. Two of my favourites Alix and Estee are always raving about this so I couldn't wait to treat myself. I've used this once already and it is gorgeous; it's such a subtle shimmer as it doesn't have any glitter. I am in love with theBalm FratBoy blush so I definitely think the brand is becoming one of my favourites.

Another Alix enabled purchase is the Bourjois ColorBand eyeshadow pencil in Brun Dadaiste. When she used this in a video I knew I had to get my hands on it. I actually have the Beige shade of this but I haven't been impressed with the colour pay off. I'm hoping this one will change my mind on the product though!

The Origins GinZing moisturiser is actually a repurchase as this is an old favourite of mine. I used to use this so much but my pot started looking a bit sad so I stopped using it for a while. I like to use this in the mornings as it gives me a bit of kick and I love the refreshing feeling it gives. I also love the scent!

The last product that I have been eyeing up for a while is the Rimmel Moisture Renew lipstick In Love With Ginger. This is another product that has done its blogging rounds but I finally decided to give it a go. I think this is probably better used more subtly and applied using the finger or a lip brush as I can imagine it would bleed quite badly if you were to apply it with the stick all over. I can't wait to start using this though.

I hope you like seeing my latest purchases and let me know in the comments what beauty products you've been loving recently.

HELLO CRETE

Wow, hello again blog. I think this is the longest (unplanned) break I've taken from my little writing space on the internet. I wish I had a good excuse but really, having a full time job, running a home and uploading weekly videos to YouTube has taken its toll on me the last few months and has meant my little blog has slipped away from me. I've got my inspiration and motivation back now though so I want to get you up to speed. Before I do that I want to share my recent holiday with you as I had a rather lovely time. Let's get started.

Dan and I went away with his family a couple of weeks ago and we went to the rather beautiful Crete. We stayed in this lovely villa just outside Elounda village which we found on Owner's Direct. I love staying in villas because it feels so luxurious and so peaceful. The first photo is one of the best beaches I've ever been to- Istro. It was a small, quiet, tucked away beach with lovely sand and such clear blue water. We spent most of our days lazing around here.

A few of our evenings were spent in Plaka, which was such a cute little seaside village, over looking Spinalonga Island across the water. There were under ten restaurants there so it had a really lovely intimate feel to it. I loved all the little touches in the restaurants and in the shops.

One day we actually took a little trip to Spinalonga, getting a boat across from Plaka. It was a pretty eerie place but it was interesting to see a bit of culture and history, as well as the gorgeous views.

We spent a bit of time in another little seaside town called Sissi and we played a fun round of crazy golf (had to be done!). It would have been nice to eat here of an evening but it was a bit far to drive back.

Our other evenings were spent in Elounda and Agios Nikoloas. Elounda was such a great place for dinner as it was relaxed, but also had enough buzz for an enjoyable evening. One night we visited Rady's Cocktail Bar which was so lovely but the cocktails were the strongest cocktails I've ever drunk. Unsurprisingly I had a good night! This last photo was taken in Agios Nikolaos. The photos make it look like a little Venice, but unfortunately we weren't too impressed with the places to eat, it didn't have a nice feel like the others.

One of the best days was spent on Chrissi Island which was such a magical place. I love finding a good beach and this was beautiful. The sand was so lovely and the water was so clear and blue. If you're visiting Crete, I would definitely recommend a day trip to the island!

I loved writing this blog post as it took me back to the lovely holiday! Although now I really want to book another one! I hope you enjoyed my pictures and reading about my holiday. Let me know in the comments if you've got a holiday planned this year. Thanks for sticking with me!

I've just uploaded my holiday vlog and lookbook so I'll put that below too!

EASTER TREATS AND INSPIRATION.

This weekend I feel like I fell in love with our flat all over again and it was definitely something to do with all the pretty flowers and chocolate dotted around. I felt inspired to take photos of all the cute additions and I thought I would share them with you.

Dan surprised me with the most gorgeous flowers for Easter; I hadn't even got him an egg so I felt rather guilty! He knows my favourite flowers are tulips and I just love how the white, yellow and pink colours all compliment each other. The cute colourful eggs were a lovely surprise from Feel Unique and I thought they were too lovely not to have out in a bowl!

This weekend finally saw us find the rug we have been searching for since we moved out. I never realised how pricey rugs were before I started looking, so we struggled to find one within our budget that we liked. We happened to pop into our local TK Maxx and we stumbled upon this beauty of a bargain; I wasn’t 100% when we got it home but after asking on Instagram and Twitter, I knew I had to keep it. I love the gorgeous colours and how it compliments the room.

I had the loveliest Easter weekend which was filled with hot tub fun with my friends and an Easter egg hunt with my family. I even baked brownies which you can see here too! You can see what else I got up to over on my Instagram

NEW HOME ADDITIONS

Primark pineapple candle | Primark pink & gold candle | Flamingo Gifts Mr P kiss mug | Primark flamingo cushion | Primark triangle cushion | Primark duvet cover | Flamingo Gifts Enjoy the little things sign | Flamingo Gifts sticky notes | Flamingo Gifts glasses case

Now that we have our own little flat, I've got a bit obsessed with home stuff! I just love adding little touches to create our own stamp on the place. Primark are really killing it with their home stuff at the moment. I started off by finding the cute cushions and we thought they'd be perfect on our grey sofa, mixed with our other colourful cushions. I think the patterns on the cushions are super cute and for £4, I knew we had to have them. I then discovered they had this geometric duvet cover, which is perfect for what I've been trying to get recently. I cannot wait to put this on our bed.

I also can't believe how cheap (£2!) and cute the Primark pineapple candle is; I've been after something Pineapple for so long and I couldn't believe I managed to get it in Primark! The pink and gold candle will look great against my makeup storage and I didn't even realise till after I'd got it that it was a smelly candle too!

When Flamingo Gifts asked if I wanted to choose a few items from their site, I was immediately drawn to the Mr P kiss mug as I love this little collection, I have a tea drip one which I adore, so now they can be friends! I've also recently joined the four-eyed gang so I really wanted a nice case for my glasses and this Vintage Ivy one is perfect. I'm also a bit of a stationary geek so I decided to go for this cute little set of sticky notes; I can't wait to start sticking pretty notes everywhere! This Enjoy The Little Things sign now hangs in our kitchen; I love quotes and I especially like this one.

What do you think of my little home additions? I rather like them.
