theBalm Frat Boy Blush

I thought I would introduce you to my new blusher love; theBalm Frat Boy. This cutely packaged blush gets raved about all over the blogosphere and now I know why. I'm not quite sure what makes this such a wonderful shade but it's a gorgeous subtle pink shade that almost borders on a bronzer shade; I think with the tone that it is, it would look good on a lot of different skin tones.

The pigmentation is really great too, you don't have to jab your brush into it constantly like some blushers need; this just need a little dab.

There's just not much not to love with it, it's also great for transporting around as it's a nice and slender. I tried to get a swatch photo but I just couldn't do it justice; I've been wearing it in a lot of my recent videos so you may get a good idea from those.

I have been very busy this week; I went to London for the Daily Mix Halloween party which you can see in the latest vlog and this weekend, me and the girls had a fabulous afternoon tea where we ate far too many cakes and scones! I've got one last week of my current job, then I have a whole week off, where Dan and I are planning to go away and then I start my new adventure; but I'll update you on all of that nearer the time!

Have any of you tried this fabulous blusher?

Autumn Get Ready With Me

Autumn is definitely my favourite month of all; I get so excited about the crisp weather, the pretty coloured trees and the leaves flying everywhere. I just think it's such a special time with lots of exciting things ahead like bonfire night and Christmas. I thought I would film an Autumn inspired makeup look, finished with my hair and an Autumnal outfit!

I used some of my favourite makeup products like the Estee Lauder eye shadow palette in Raisins and Rimmel 107 lipstick, although I think I've found a new winter lipstick I'm in love with, but more on that later!

I also used this pretty bronze pigment from Maybelline which I think I unfortunately got from America and may be unavailable, here but I know Rimmel do an amazing copper/bronze shadow stick.

I hope you enjoy watching me get ready for Autumn! This weekend has been spent filming videos with Megan, which will be up on my channel next week and chilling with Dan, it's been lovely! Today, fittingly, it has been the perfect Autumn day.

The New Coat

Coat: Oasis
Fur Collar: H&M
Jumper: Forever 21
Dress: Dorothy Perkins
Boots: Clarks
Lips: Rimmel 107

I have quite a big collection of bags, shoes and coats, which I regularly have to re-evaluate and clear out. I decided I wanted to treat myself to a decent coat this year as the majority of my collection comprises of cheaper, badly fitted coats that just don’t look right anymore. I’ve been looking for a good coat for a while now and wasn’t having much luck; they were either the wrong colour, the wrong fit or wrong style.

I just happened to be walking through House of Fraser when I spotted this gorgeous coat from Oasis and knew I had to try it on. As soon as I put it on, I loved it, and with Dan’s approval, I went straight to tills. I love the unusual dusky pink colour, it makes it a bit different and I was so pleased to find a tailored coat that could be worn for casual and smarter occasions.

I think it looks great teamed with this H&M faux fur collar as it adds a little something, but I think it looks good on it’s own or accompanied by a scarf.

You can probably tell I like this coat quite a lot so I think it’s time to have that usual coat clear out I mentioned! Who else has treated themselves to a new coat for Autumn/Winter?

LUSH Haulin'

I realised when I started running a bath the other day that I had run out of LUSH goodies, cue lots of pre-bath panic. Luckily I had some boring bath soak so it was all ok in the end, but I knew I needed to go LUSH shopping that weekend, so that's what I did! I had to refrain from taking millions of photos because they're just so damn pretty aren't they?

The Comforter Bubble Bar, £4.75: Bubble Bars are my favourite because you can use them numerous times and they create so many bubbles. I decided to get this gorgeous delight after seeing Kate's post and it's just SO HUGE; it's literally bigger than my palm. I'll definitely get a lot of use out of this. Not only is it easy on the eyes, but I love the fruity scent and it's meant to be really soothing.

Mmmelting Marshmallow Moment Bubble Bar, £3.95: Even though this little gem isn't the most eye catching, I decided to add it to my basket because like LUSH says it, "brings to mind dolly mixtures and candy floss" as it smells so lovely and sweet. Not only does it smell gorgeous, it contains camomile powder and cocoa butter so leaves you feeling super soft!

Luxury Lush Pud Bath Bomb, £3.50: Although a little eager, I thought I would treat myself to one of the bombs from the Christmas range, because you can't get prettier than this one can you?? As I said, I don't like the bombs as much as the bubble bars but I'm hoping this one will change my mind because I know it will be an explosion of pretty colours (I'm already excited- can you tell?)

I was so happy with my little bath additions and now I just want a bath every night! What bits do you love from LUSH and have you tried any of these?

Winning a Cosmopolitan Blog Award

My dress: Missguided*
My shoes: BooHoo
My bag: BooHoo

When I was shortlisted for the Best Vlog award for the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards, I couldn't believe it, I nearly cried and shook uncontrollably; you could say it was a big deal for me! This week brought the fancy award ceremony and I was so excited that I was able to be there, amongst some really inspiring people. I was just happy to be apart of something so exciting.

When my category came up and 'Faye's Fix' was announced for the Highly Commended award, I could not believe it. I had to walk up the scary wedding-stylee aisle and go and collect my award. The amazing Fleur De Force won the Best Vlog award, so to come second to her, was truly incredible. I was up against some seriously amazing girls too, so I am still in complete shock.

Apart from being a little bit ill, I had such a lovely night, meeting and hanging with some seriously lovely girls including Kim, Gracie, Tash, Megan, Sophia and Abi. There were lots of other people I would've loved to say hi to but it was all quite busy busy!

I didn't get many photos of the night myself, so these photos are from Cosmo, Stacie and Sophia. I did however, vlog the evening which you can see here. I still can't believe it and I just want to say a huge thank you to anyone that voted for me, to either be shortlisted or to win the HC award, it really means so much!

September Favourites

I have to say that my September Favourites come together as quite a pretty bunch! I am super excited that it's now October, not only does it mean it's getting closer to bonfire night and Christmas (oops, shh), I love the cold and crisp weather and layering all the scarfs and coats! Last month I was in need of a new skincare fix as my skin was starting to be troublesome; in comes these two wonders from the REN Clarimatte range which have become my new loves; the REN scent is one of my favourites and I really think these have helped clear up my skin.

I have been loving pastel nail polish all over again and these two bargain beauties have been all over my nails this month; I especially love the 'off-white' offering from Barry M (Coconut). The Rimmel foundation and TheBalm Fratboy blush have graced my face a lot lately and I seriously love the blush; I think it's my new favourite! The HI brow palette has been great, used as an eyeshadow alternative and I have been loving my pretty new iPhone 6; I mean, you can't get any prettier for a phone can you? Read here what my favourite photo editing apps are.

October has already begun with an amazing bang; I've bagged myself a new job which I'll start in November and I amazingly won the Highly Commended award for the Best Vlog category at the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards but more on that soon!!

favourite photo editing apps

This is a bit of a different post from me, I like to try and mix up my blog a bit and I personally enjoy these more helpful and useful blog posts. So I thought I would do a post on my favourite photo editing apps as we all love the perfect Instagram!

Afterlight, 69p: I started using this a few months after I could't get the perfect effect I wanted using the Instagram filters. There's so so many different filters to choose from on here and I also love to use the brightening function on it. There's also cropping, frames and different colour alteration options. This is the app I go to add brightness and a little filter before I go to Instagram.

PhotoCollage, free: This is my go-to app for a collage; I love using this for outfit or holiday collages. There's lots of different options, but it's also so simple, which is why it's my favourite, and the best part is that it's free! If you look at my Instagram you can see how much I use this app and all it's varieties!

Whitagram, free: Sometimes it's nice not to have to crop a photo into a square, so in comes this little beauty. I think there's lots of different variants of this app but this is the one I prefer to use. It's extremely simple and there's not much to it other than adding in the photo and it creating a white border. No fuss!

Canon CameraWindow, free: This one isn't quite as exciting or pretty but it's an 'essential' for me sometimes; if I've taken a decent photo on my DSLR I'll want to Instagram it straight away. This is when it comes in handy carrying my vlogging camera round too, so I'll switch the memory cards and connect my Canon S110 to a wifi connection, then to this app and hey presto, I've got my photos on my phone. It sounds a bit of a palava but sometimes I feel it necessary to get to my photos quickly and the app is super helpful.

I hope you enjoyed this blog post and I hope it helps any of you or made you fancy trying out one of the apps. Please let me know your favourite photo apps to use so I can keep editing and playing around!

My September favourites will be up next so watch out for that.

Edinburgh Part Two

I thought I would share some more photos from our Edinburgh trip. Most of these photos are from one of my favourite days when we took a bus tour to Stirling Castle and Loch Lomond. The coach was ok but if we had taken more time to research, we could've just done the drive ourselves. I couldn't believe how beautiful the Loch was and it felt rather magical.

When we made the stop at the Loch, most people just chilled at the pub but Dan and I wanted to explore. Being the boy that he is, Dan found a little footpath that led us to this amazing little beach spot with amazing views across the water. I got a bit excited and wanted to take lots of photos, cue setting up the camera on a rock on timer and running back to Dan. I really wish we could've stayed longer here as the weather was so nice and it was just so lovely.

The last couple of photos were taken in the Royal Botanical Gardens as we thought we would take a wonder there (although ended up getting the bus back to our apartment to save our feet.) The gardens were really lovely but Dan wanted to go into the greenhouses and explore the rainforest gardens so he paid the fee for us to go in as I wasn't too fussed. I'm so glad he did in the end because it was so interesting and pretty and well worth the £5 entry.

If you want to see Part One of my Edinburgh posts then you can find that here and you can watch my Edinburgh vlog here. The next part will be dedicated to a little cafe I fell for! Looking back at these photos are really making me miss beautiful Scotland.
