white blazer & catch up

Dress: SheInside*
Blazer: Uniqlo
Sandals: Topshop
Lips: No7 Gay Geranium

So I accidentally ended up having a break from blogging for a bit, but I sort of ended up having a break from the internet in general. I’ve been in Edinburgh all week with Dan for our eight anniversary and this weekend I’ve been home having lots of family filled fun (and lots of nephew cuddles).

Sometimes it’s nice to have a little break and sit back and enjoy what’s going on around you rather than constantly refreshing Twitter and Instagram so that’s what I’ve been doing. I’ll be doing a blog post on Edinburgh as I had such a good time and took rather a lot of photos, but for now I thought I would share an outfit with you that I really love. I wore this a lot on holiday as I love the floaty dress with the fitted white blazer. I think this would probably look better with some sort of small heel but I thought I’d keep it comfy here.

I’ve even had a little break from my YouTube this weekend as it’s easy to start putting out videos that you’re not 100% happy with, just because you feel that pressure to post a video every week. I’m hoping I can start planning my blogging and vlogging a bit better from now on but sometimes juggling it all with a full time job can get a bit of top of me, but I do try my hardest! Blogging is getting so huge and influential now it’s sometimes easy to get lost in the bubble of it all and get put down by the amazing quality of blogs out there. I just need to make sure I don’t lose sight of why I started it all and stop feeling the pressure.

Voting has closed for the Cosmopolitan Awards 2014 so there’s no more begging left to do; I now just have the panic of trying to find an outfit for the award ceremony! I definitely think I’ll have to pinch myself on the night because I still can’t quite believe it!

Now that I’ve stopped being all deep and letting everything flow out, what do you think of my outfit? What do you guys like to see on my blog too?

hanging memories

I’m always trying to find new ways of updating or ‘spicing up' my room and I love a good photo so when I saw Nouvelle Daily’s DIY post about this photo hanging line, I knew I wanted to do it;  it’s taken me quite a while to get round to it! Although the 20 Instagram prints I got from Firebox weren’t particularly cheap, I think they are so so pretty so it makes up for it! There are definitely cheaper alternatives to Firebox though.

I bought these little pegs from eBay that were super cheap and I found this white ribbon/string lying around in the house to use so it didn’t cost me too much time or effort to put the little display together. I decided to use sellotape to attach it to my wall so that I didn't need to use pins and you can't see the tape anyway.

I think I probably need less photos to spread them out a bit but I couldn't pick my favourite ones to display! What do you think of my little Instagram photo line?

get ready with me- summer everyday

I thought I would share my latest video with you as people really seem to enjoy Get Ready With Me videos. I also spent a lot of time filming and editing it so I would for people to take a look and give it a bit of love. It's based around a fresh, summery look that can be worn everyday (or evening) and I talk you through my whole makeup routine, hair and my outfit choice.

I hope you like my video! I'm currently typing up a 'deep' blog post as I need a bit of a chat with you guys. Stay tuned for that.

the body shop bits

As I've said quite recently, I'm really trying to switch up my usual routines and try out new products; let's say I'm widening my horizons (ok maybe a bit dramatic), but I decided to add some new products to my skincare routine.

I'm always seeing lots of good things about The Body Shop and after doing a bit of research and blog reading, I decided to go for the three above; I also had a voucher I had found online so it made the shop even more pleasing! Now that I've been using the products for a little while, I thought I'd give you a little run down on my thoughts:

The Body Shop Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil- The main reason I got this was because Kate (my main enabler) was raving about this rather a lot on her blog. The idea is that you massage the oil into your skin before rinsing off and moving onto a cleanser. I have to say I have been loving this product, not only does it really remove makeup, it smells UHMAZING. I do think maybe I should have gone for the balm over the oil now as that's definitely been given a lot of love by everyone and the texture definitely appeals to me. Watch this space.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Squeaky-Clean Scrub- This definitely attracted me the most as I have really come to love the smell of tea tree and I'm always after a decent pore-cleansing scrub. This does what it says on the tin and makes my face feel so fresh and clean after. It doesn't make my skin feel tight either so this is definitely a winner!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Lotion- I'm still on the fence about this one. I think I made the mistake the first time but slathering this all over my face which resulted in huge panic when my face started burning up; I'm not being dramatic- this really stung! Since then I've only been using a tiny amount on my spots and it's definitely helping to reduce the size and redness of them so it must be doing something right?

Have you tried any of these products? What are your favourite Body Shop products?

the white skirt

Jumper: Primark
Bag: Primark

This outfit is entirely influenced by Vivianna's Capsule Wardrobe video and her general look and style- I just love it! I've been on the hunt for a decent white skirt after watching this video, but A Lines just don't seem to work on me with my big bum and hips. I came across this little number on SheInside and I'm so happy with it, it's quite stretchy which means it hugs my curves rather than stretching against them. I do have to apologise for the horrendous creases in it though-clearly I was so excited to slip it on and take photos!

I teamed the skirt with this casual jumper to dress it down a bit and added my favourite pair of summer boots. I like how the outfit comes together and how it's a mix of slouchy and sophisticated.

I don't often jump on a trend but I am loving white skirts at the moment- what do you think?

july favourites

This month's favourites features a few new products that I've been loving; especially The Body Shop skincare which I've added to my collection. First up is the Tea Tree Squeaky-Clean Scrub which I bought with my blocked pores in mind; I love the tea tree scent and it makes me feel so revitalised and my face feels so clean and clear. Another new favourite is the Camomile Cleansing Oil which has to be one of the nicest smelling products I've ever owned; it's also a lovely product for removing makeup and adding to the skincare routine.

If you read my beauty haulin' post you would've seen this Liz Earle Signature Foundation which I have worn and loved every day since I got it so I will definitely do a separate post about this. This L'Oreal Clarifying shampoo has been great for cleaning my hair and preventing it from getting greasy (which it has been doing a lot lately). Two other favourites come in the form of this Benefit Porefessional powder which has been great for sticking in my handbag in this hot weather and the Tarte blush which has been great for this hot weather again as it's really long lasting.

If you want to hear me talk in a bit more detail about the products, feel free to watch my new video up above or here on my channel

What have you been loving this month?
