palm print

Jumpsuit: Primark
Wedges: Primark
Bag: Ebay (similar here)

At last...an outfit post! They're a favourite of mine but I find it so hard to get the photos taken, what with work and the weather! This Primark jumpsuit is a new favourite of mine and I was surprised I ended up buying it; I saw it hanging there and just loved it but didn't think it would suit my (pear) figure), but actually I think it looks pretty good! I have had to alter it a bit as I'm so short (5ft) and the legs were so long!

I teamed it with these white wedges which are super comfy and my slouchy studded bag from eBay which I have had for so long now! I just wish I had had this jumpsuit for my holiday but I think it could also be dressed up with ankle boots and a leather jacket.

What do you think of the jumpsuit?

beauty haulin'

It's not often that I buy beauty bits over clothes because I learnt not to buy into blog hype like I used to. This weekend I decided I wouldn't buy any clothes and I would buy some beauty bits to add to my stash. The Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping mascara and the Collection Lasting Perfection concealer are both repurchases because I love them so much; the mascara just really works for me and I haven't found another mascara better, and everyone knows how good the concealer is!

Both the Liz Earle Signature foundation and the Revlon powder blush were enabled by Kate, I just treat her blog like a beauty bible! My favourite foundation is Laura Mercier Silk Creme but this is meant to be quite similar and it's cheaper so I thought I would give it a go. I haven't actually used it yet but I'm worried by the smell-it's quite strong!

I love a good blusher and when Kate gushed over these Revlon ones, I knew I had to give them a go. I went for Haute Pink as I love bright pinks like this.

I can't wait to mix up my old favourites for my new additions and to keep you guys posted! I'm definitely feeling the Sunday night blues as this weekend has gone so quickly but it's involved buying a new car and cuddling my nephew so it's been pretty damn good!

shorter do for summer

I’ve come to the realisation that I’m quite fickle when it comes to my hair; I’ve had it really short, pretty long, mid-length, red, dark brown, ombre and more. I’m one of those people that can’t seem to find what suits me best; I went from having a pretty short brown pob to having quite long ombre hair. My parents loved my really short hair but I found it boring in the end and I just couldn’t do enough with it. I did love having my long hair, it made me feel quite girly but edgy with the ombre; on a good hair day- it looked really good, but on a bad hair day, it looked really bad. I struggle with getting volume and texture in my hair as it’s natural dead straight so my long hair just became too hard to manage and lost the life in it.

Since having my longer hair I’ve gradually been going shorter and shorter again and actually, the ombre and blond is coming back in after being cut out. I got it cut recently and I really like the length right now; I’m still able to do so much with it but it doesn’t require too much effort. I also got a bit more blonde put through it and I love the subtle shade I now have- it’s quite soft but still pretty noticeable. I’m not sure if I’ll ever think my hair looks perfect but does anyone? Unfortunately my dream of having natural beach-wave hair won’t ever come true but I’ll settle for what I’ve got!

primark haul in pictures #7

Palm print jumpsuit- £15, Boots- £15, Boho style top- £10, Sandles- £5, Floral head band- £2.50,
V-neck tees- £4, Silk tank tops- £4, Leopard print slip-ons- £7, Pink bag- £8, Purse- £5,
Headphones- £8, Hair ties- £1.50 each

As most of you know, I love a good Primark shop and I was starting to get withdrawal symptoms so I decided to take some other bits back and have a look around. I got some lovely pieces and I couldn't wait to share them with you.

Aswell as getting some basic v-neck tshirts and silky tank tops, I fell in love with this palm print jumpsuit and the chunky heeled chelsea boots. I didn't think the jumpsuit would suit my short figure but actually, I think it's pretty flattering. I am obsessed with boots and I own far too many but I just couldn't walk away from the chunky-goodness of these.

I continued the summery theme with this very Boho lacey top, the black Birkenstock-style sandles and the extremely pretty floral crown. The top isn't very 'me' but there was just something I loved about it and I think it'll look great with denim shorts.

These leopard print slip-ons are something I had seen on Primark's Instagram and I just knew I needed to add them to my collection to spruce up a casual outfit. They're also super comfy!

Primark are killing it in the accessories department lately and I love all these little bits I got, including the Mulberry-esque purse and the cute pink headphones and bag. I couldn't not grab these amazing little hair accessories which have the loveliest patterns on them.

What do you think of the bits I got?

festival feeling

Dress: Primark
Floral Head Band: New Look
Sunglasses: Primark

I ventured off to London on Sunday with Megan and our first stop was Leicester Square where we met the extremely lovely Kate for breakfast in Soho. We ended up feasting on pancakes and French toast in Balans and it was so so good. Our brunch was munched on between lots of of chatting and giggling and it was just lovely.

We then headed off to Oxford Street, parted ways with Kate and went to tackle Topshop. I became Megan's personal clothes rack (lol) as she was searching for the perfect skirt, which unfortunately she didn't end up finding in Topshop but luckily found in Primark!

The main reason we went to London was for the British Summer Time festival at Hyde Park, but we didn't get there till about 3, after we'd found Aaman and Rosie. We managed to see The Vamps (my current loves), Backstreet Boys (lol) and McBusted. We sang out to the BB while the heavens opened so we all huddled together under an umbrella, which was both very cold and funny. Unfortunately I didn't stay too late because I needed to take the long train journey home but I've seen McFly about 10 times so that made it a little easier!

I loved the atmosphere at the BST Festival- it was so chilled out but everyone was so happy and excited to be there. I enjoyed a rather yummy pulled pork sandwich and homemade lemonade and I loved cracking out the floral headband. Overall I had such a lovely weekend.

I hope you like my photos of the day and stay tuned for my weekend vlog on my YouTube to see what else I got up to!

shortlisted in the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards 2014

So I was extremely overwhelmed earlier today when someone tweeted me saying I had been shortlisted for the Cosmopolitan Blog Awards. I couldn't believe it till I checked myself and I saw 'Faye's Fix' under the Best Vlog category. This honestly means SO MUCH to me and it still hasn't sunk in. If any of you watch my videos or nominated me then thank you so much, I am extremely grateful. It's amazing to even be considered, especially in the same category as Fleur De Force!! I never would have expected to get shortlisted, I am so shocked and excited.

My category is on the 12th page so keep an eye out! Voting closes on 29th August so you have around two months to get that vote in! Just follow the Next buttons and enter your email address at the end (you can opt out of emails).

It would mean the world if you could vote for me if you enjoy my videos. You only get to vote once so it should only take two minutes. You can click above or to the right or click here! Please tweet me (@fayesfix) or Facebook me and let me know if you've voted!

Thank you so much again!

smelling expensive on a budget

Recently I’ve been wanting to expand my perfume collection; for a long time I’ve always been a one-scent kinda’ girl but I realised how nice it is to have different perfumes to choose from, especially with the changing seasons and your personal mood- it’s nice to have options. I rarely like to buy perfume for myself because I see it as a great gift so I tend to ask for it for a special occasion, but after reading and hearing about Next’s perfume range across some of my favourite blogs, I realised I should investigate.

When I first looked at the range I couldn’t believe the bargain prices- £7.50 for a 30ml bottle of Eau De Parfum?! A few days later I rushed into my nearest Next and ogled at all the pretty bottles, but which one to choose? Unfortunately they don’t seem to display testers (but that could just be the shop I went to) so it was a bit of 'Eenie, Meenie, Miney, Mo'.  I decided to go with the one I had heard the most about and the one that sounded like it suited my taste the most- Just Pink, L’Eau with A delicate blend with fresh fruits & aquatic florals encased in soft musks.

I personally find this is a lot more floral than fruity but I was so impressed as soon as I gave it its first spritz; not only does it smell lovely, it lasted such a long time (surprisingly well for its price tag!).  I also adore the packaging- I think the rose gold is so pretty and it just looks so lovely, I think the bottle is worth £7.50 on its own!

I’m so impressed with this little bottle of goodness, mainly for the price tag; it can’t really be faulted for less than £10. I can’t wait to try some of the other scents now and expand my collection further. Have any of you tried the Next’s perfumes?
