Bourjois Java Rice Powder, a subtle shimmer

I refrained from buying the Bourjois Java Rice Powder through all the blogging hype of it’s 150th anniversary release, but I decided to buy it recently on a bit of a whim.

I wanted a new product to add to my collection, to add ‘a little something’ and I think it’s done the trick. Admittedly I did think it was a setting powder, but on first investigation, I realised quickly that it’s more of a highlighting product as it has a subtle shimmer. I don’t wear a highlighter all that often as it seems to escape my everyday routing but with this being so subtle, I find myself reaching for it on a regular basis.

It’s not going to dramatically change your life because I doubt it’s overly obvious to people but I think that’s the beauty of it. I like the retro packaging especially, but I’m not keen on the strong fragrance; it definitely takes you back to older products!

Overall I have been really enjoying this and I think it will be great for Spring when the sun will catch the little shimmer particles!

  1. I like the shimmer of this product, it's really lovely! I just wish it wasn't a loose powder since I find it a bit messy to work with :o) Xx

  3. The packaging is so gorgeous, but I'm quite sensitive to smell so I think I'll pass on this one!
