my favourite sea salt spray

I've actually realised that I got this Tony & Guy Sea Salt spray for Christmas as a stocking filler, so it's about time I introduced my little love to you. If I'm honest I really loved using the Bumble & Bumble surf spray but I ended up losing it and couldn't justify spending that much money on a hair product again. I decided to give this one a go and I am so pleased I did; I love the smell and I've gotten to that stage where I've found the best way to use it. I tend to spray a few times into my hands and scrunch my hair with the product; I find this works much better than spraying directly onto the hair because you can work it in how you want.

I don't think this is quite as powerful as the Bumble & Bumble spray but in a way I think that's better as it's much easier to control how crispy the hair is getting. I tend to style my hair messily with my straighteners then run this through my hair, finishing it off with a teeny bit of hairspray. If anything I find this sea salt spray holds my hair better than hairspray and I prefer the look.

Overall this spray does the trick for me and I have really be reaching for it recently. Have you tried this or found something just as good?

april favourites

I think the April line-up looks very pretty! Having spoken about it on my blog recently, I had to include the Benefit Big Easy into this month's favourites as I've been wearing it quite a lot. I really love the coverage and I think it's great for those days when you don't want to wear too much makeup. Another item I've mentioned lately and been wearing nearly every day is this Garnier Five Second Blur Primer; I love how soft it makes my skin and I think it's a good base for my makeup, but I'm not sure if it helps to keep my makeup in place all day.

Another new product this month is the REN Invisible Pores Mask which I have been really enjoying; I have quite blocked pores and I really think this helps to clear them out and generally improve my skin. Along with this I've been using the Pai Rosehip BioRegenerate Oil which is amazing for that extra bit of moisture, whilst giving my skin that little bit of TLC just before I go to bed.

I'm surprised I haven't done a full review on this Dove Summer Glow gradual tanner as it's a firm favourite of mine; it's definitely the best gradual tanner I've ever used. It rarely leaves patches and it gives the loveliest natural tan. It's a real goodun' for the lead up to Summer!

The final product, the VO5 Plump It Up spray, isn't a life changer if I'm honest but I have been enjoying using it so add that bit of oomph and texture to my hair, plus it smells amazing!

the perfect easter weekend

My Easter weekend was definitely one to remember; it sounds cheesy but to me it really made me appreciate the people around me. I had such a perfect, fun, chilled out time with Dan which included eating rubbish and going on an adventurous day out to a forest where we hired bikes.

I also spent an evening having a really good time with my girls and it really made me think about how lucky I am to have such a close group of friends.

Here's a few of my favourite photos from the weekend but if you want to watch what I got up to then I vlogged the entire four days.

garnier perfect blur primer

I am always on the look out for the perfect primer; I don't think I've ever felt 100% happy with a Primer I've used. I just want something that's going to smooth and improve my skin, creating the best base for my makeup, whilst keeping my makeup in place all day. I've come to the realisation that I'm asking for too much.

I wasn't really enjoying the Rimmel Matte Primer that I was using so when I saw this Garnier one on offer I thought I would give it a go as I had heard a few good things about it.

I would liken the texture and feel to Benefit's Porefessional, it's got that almost powdery feel to it, although I find this Garnier one is much more workable than the Porefessional. I definitely think it works in the same way too and it does help to blur out pores and imperfections like it claims to.

I really love how soft this makes my skin feel and I think it works well with my makeup, but I wouldn't want to leave it too long without blending because it seems to set makeup quite quickly.

Can you feel a but coming? I would say this still isn't the perfect primer I'm looking for. I haven't noticed much of a difference throughout the day and I don't think it particularly helps to keep my makeup in place, but do any primers?

If any of you think you can help me out with the perfect primer then I would really appreciate it. What are your favourites?

Primark haul in pictures #6

As I've recently booked a holiday to Cyprus in June, I have been getting a bit excited and been buying lots of Summery bits in preparation. My first stop was Primark as I knew it would deliver some bargain Summer pieces. You would have already seen this neon yellow bag in a recent outfit post and I am so in love with it.

I have needed a new beach towel for so long so when I saw this I was extremely happy and it went straight into the basket. Primark pieces are getting so pretty, including this bargain £5 playsuit and this really cute floral swing dress, both of which I can't wait to wear!

I think one of my favourite pieces from this trip has to be this bright high waisted bikini set; I love the pattern and it's such a flattering shape. I'm so pleased they sold the top and bottoms separate as I'm definitely a pear shape!

Overall I'm so happy with my new Primark purchases and it's making me very excited for my holiday.

I've having such a good Easter weekend which has so far consisted of seeing my girls, spending time with Dan and eating chocolate! Today I'm just chilling and doing bits and bobs I've been needing to do for a while (like sorting out my phone- zzz) and tomorrow Dan and I are off on an adventure which I'm sure I'll be blogging about, but definitely vlogging about.

time for change

Skirt: Primark
Top: New Look
Boots: Miss Selfridge

When I saw this skirt in Primark I got a bit excited- I had wanted the Topshop checked skirt for ages but when I tried it on it was a hideous fit on me. With this Primark bodycon number I much prefer the stretchyness and the fact it was about £30 cheaper! I have been lusting over these H by Hudson boots after swooning at Sammi's blog lately; I love the cowboy heeled boot trend so I decided to dig these old ones out, but unfortunately they don't have a heel so they're not quite cutting it for me. I'm still on a hunt for the perfect Hudson dupe.

As I'm hoping you may be able to tell, I've had my blog redesigned and I am really in love with it! I have been trying to improve my blog for a while now and I thought it needed a bit of TLC. Unfortunately I'm not very technical so I knew I would have to get somebody to do it for me so I just kept putting it off but I finally decided that it needed to be done!

After asking on Twitter for recommendations, the lovely Lauren redesigned my blog. From start to finish it's taken a week and Lauren has been so efficient- changing and trying everything I've asked for. I'm sure I was very irritating and picky so I would definitely recommend Lauren, she has been super helpful.

neon brights

Dress: Primark
Bag: Primark
Boots: BANK
Sunglasses: Primark

I definitely think Primark has its ups and downs, and I really think it's on an up at the moment- I can't stop buying things! I had seen this bag a few times on YouTube and Instagram and I knew it had to be mine- I envisaged wearing it with a monochrome outfit or just adding a pop of colour to a holiday outfit. I wanted it so badly I had actually asked three different people to look in three different Primarks but they didn't have any luck. I ended up heading to Lakeside this weekend and I was so happy when I laid my eyes on it (sad I know), it went straight in my basket.

This checked dress has been in my wardrobe for a few weeks now and I love it so much! I've worn it with tights and a jumper and now managed to brave bare legs. I think the bag definitely adds to the dress though!

These sunglasses are another Primark find and I love the big bug eyed look they give- perfect for adding a bit of chic to an outfit.

I took these photos in the amazing sunshine today and it was a lovely way to finish a lovely weekend which was filled with shopping, seeing family and generally relaxing. I'm not feeling too down about Monday tomorrow because I know I've got a four day weekend coming up next. Has anybody got any plans for their Easter break?

weekend in Norwich & Cambridge

It seems to have become a tradition to go away for Dan's birthday; by March we must have that need to go away after the long-gone Christmas break! This year we decided to go to Norwich, I'm not quite sure why but we've both been there before but didn't really remember it and it seemed a good place to go for a couple of nights. Another main reason was so we could go to Cambridge on the way home; a place that we've also been but fancied another look around.

I hope this post isn't too photo-heavy but I really enjoyed using my camera this weekend; I loved all the cobbled streets and as you can tell I loved taking photos by the seaside! We headed to Southwold for an afternoon as I had heard it was a really cute seaside town to go to and so it was! I fell in love with the beach huts and with the sun shining we enjoyed overpriced fish and chips. It was a lovely day indeed.

We really loved Norwich city, especially the shopping! We stayed in the Pottergate Apartments and we had a really gorgeous one bed flat which was so close to the city centre but far enough away from the noise (how old do I sound?). We had planned to have breakfast at No33 but with a big queue and time running out, we carried on walking and found Olive's (on Elm Hill); there was hardly anyone in there which was a bit worrying but my fruit bread was really yummy and it was all so reasonably priced; I would really recommend!

On our final day we headed home and took the detour to Cambridge; we spent most of our time standing over the river watching people crash into each other whilst punting but it was the perfect end to a perfect weekend.

I loved the sights of these two cities; we even said we'd like to live up there, but the grass is always greener right? Who's been to visit or lives there? As you can see I vlogged the weekend so feel free to have a little watch.

crazy for culottes

Boots: Schuh
Bag: Ebay
Lips: Wet n Wild Cherry Picking

When I was scrolling through ASOS’ sale recently, I came across these culottes and I just thought “ooh I need those”; I love the cute floral pattern and I thought they would be great for a holiday.

I’m not a massive shorts fan because I find them SO tiny these days and my big bottom would not look good in them. I had never tried culottes before but as soon as I put them on, it was love! I find the shape is perfect for me; I’m not a huge fan of my hip/thigh area so the way they skirt over these is great.

These are also really stretchy and the fabric is really light so I feel totally comfortable in them and I think I could get away going bare legged in them, unlike those pesky denim hot pants.

After falling in love with these culottes, I decided to buy them in grey and black because I couldn’t resist! I didn't have a top that really went well with them though so I searched BooHoo's website as they always seem to have what I want and sure enough I decided this top would be a good fit.

What are your thoughts on culottes?

Benefit Big Easy, multi-balancing complexion perfector

When this circus themed package arrived I was pretty excited, although I wish they wouldn’t send naughty sweet treats! Lions and candy floss aside, this package brought Benefit’s new release, Big Easy, which is a light to medium base which resembles a BB Cream.

If I’m honest, I’ve never been a fan of BB or CC creams as I like a full coverage base; I like to cover up my spot scars and pigmentation, but after using this new Benefit product, my views may have changed.

This base is not one for the dewy faced lovers as it has a liquid to powder consistency and it settles with a lovely matte finish (my personal favourite). I didn’t find this too light in terms of coverage, I think it definitely sits more at the medium spectrum but it has that really natural look so great for those days when you don’t want it to look like you’ve tried too hard! I find it’s best applied with fingers and then finished with a brush, my personal choice being the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush.

Although I can’t agree or disagree, Big Easy has been likened to the Jouer Matte Moisture Tint so if you’ve ever coveted that but been unable to get your hands on it, maybe you could give the Benefit Big Easy a go. I found Light Medium was the perfect shade for my pale complexion but there’s six shades to choose from so I’m sure there’s one for everyone. It’s only available online at the moment but by mid-April you’ll be able to find it in stores. My only gripe about Big Easy is the packaging; I just don’t think it’s quite hit the spot and if I’m honest, it looks a bit like it was rushed, but the product inside certainly makes up for it.
