march favourites

A few of my favourites this month have been new purchases recently, one being this amazing Lush massage bar which smells amazing and MAC Fix +! An old favourite that has moved its way back into my life is the Collection 2000 Cream Puff Lip Cream in Cotton Candy; it's the perfect shade of pink in my opinion.

This evening I got back from a weekend away in Norwich (and Cambridge) with Dan so I'm feeling the Monday blues tonight. I took a lot of photos and vlogged the weekend so stay tuned for more of my weekend.

simple spring

Shoes: Vans

This is definitely becoming one of those items of clothing that I know will look OK; if I’m ever stuck with what to wear, this comes out the drawer.

Boohoo is fast becoming my favourite shop, I love all the patterns and styles and it is so reasonably priced. This was one of those dresses that I couldn’t stop going back to so I decided to go for it!

Smock and skater dresses are my favourite and this comes somewhere in between in my opinion. The pattern is really lovely and the material is quite light so it’s great for these sunnier days that will hopefully come!

I actually took these photos when the sun was shining and it was fairly warm, hence the bare legs! When the sun starts shining I seem to reach for my Vans as they're just so comfy and easy to wear with skirts and dresses; I think I want to get some white one for this year.

I hope you like my outfit.

spring drugstore makeup look

Rimmel Match Perfection foundation, Ivory
Rimmel Clear Complexion powder, Transparent
Revlon Grow Luscious Plumping mascara
Bourjois Java Powder
Maybelline Lumi Touch Concealer
Maybelline Color Tattoo in Eternal Gold & On and On Bronze
Sleek Blushes in Pixie Pink & Life's a Peach
Collection Extreme Felt Tip Liner
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in 1
Collection Cream Puff in Cotton Candy

I decided to do a little makeup look which combined two of my favourite things; drugstore makeup and Spring. I hadn't planned this too much apart from picking out the certain products, but I was really happy with how it all came together.

Rimmel Match Perfection has to be my favourite drugstore foundation as Ivory is the perfect shade for my skin and I love the finish; it's not too matte and it's not too dewy, perfect for Spring and Summer. I had to use these Sleek blushes too because not only is the formula of these amazing but these shades are so pretty and great for those sunnier days.

I hope you like the look I created; everything I used was really affordable too as nothing is above £10 so even better! What are your Spring and Summer makeup staples?

body shop honey bronzing powder

I've never been a massive wearer of bronzer; I have a very pale complexion so finding the right bronzer has always been a struggle. I personally prefer the blush look on me but I am constantly lusting after that 'summer glow'.

After hearing good things about the Body Shop Honey Bronzer, I decided to go and have a little look. I instantly fell in love with the packaging and the compact pattern and I grabbed the lightest shade they do; at first I was a bit sceptical because it so light but I after first application I knew it was going to be a goodun'.

The bronzer is surprinsly pigmented and for my pale skin tone, it's the perfect contouring shade; I love how build-able it is, it can be very subtle or more enhanced.

Overall I'm really loving this bronzer and it's changing my view about bronzer on me; apparently they don't all make me look like an oompa lumpa!

Have any of you tried this little beauty?

what's in my bag

Everyone seems to really enjoy seeing what other people carry around in their handbags and that can only be down to our nosey nature. I did a What's In My Bag video last March so I thought it was about time I did another one; especially now I've fallen in love with this Primark bag.

I definitely learnt that I carry too much rubbish around with me and the amount of paper and receipts I had in there could've been enough to bring back a tree!

I can imagine I'm not the only one that carries their life around with them. What are your bag essentials?

my weekend: benefit march & the breakfast club

I was quite a busy lady the weekend just gone; Dan and I took a trip to Lakeside and Ikea on Saturday and Sunday saw me off to London for a day with my favourite girls.

The main reason for going to London was because we were taking part in the Benefit Brow Arch March which was in aid of a really great cause; not only did we help raise money for charity but the 5K walk meant we had plenty of time to catch up! Being in London on the hottest day of the year so far really was lovely; the sun really does make everything better.

We had also pre-planned that we would visit The Breakfast Club as we all really fancied giving it a go; after getting lost momentarily and having to wait about an hour (I was starting to get hangry I can tell you), we finally got seated downstairs in the 'secret' room and I enjoyed yummy eggs benedict. Due to being seated in the dark downstairs, I couldn't get a foody photo of my lunch which is a shame.

We then headed to Spitalfields market where we all sampled some yummy cupcakes and grabbed a costa to go. After a very action packed weekend, I ran a bath as soon as I got home but my body is still feeling the affects of a day mainly standing in London (note to self- I must get fitter)!

I had that dreaded Monday feeling for sure this morning but luckily I've only got a four day week before I'm off to London on Friday with the girls again.

I'll be posting a vlog of my weekend so stay tuned for that!

Benefit Gimme Brow

I'm going to let you into a little eyebrows don't get much love; I hardly use eyebrow products and I rarely pluck them...when they get to the scary monobrow stage, I know I have to give in. The first reason is because I have a full fringe so my eyebrows rarely get shown off and two..I'm just plain lazy when it comes to them.

My friend Megan kept telling me about this amazing new release by Benefit, the Gimme Brow, and I have to tell you, I was slightly sceptical at first because (as I've just told you), eyebrows aren't a big deal for me.

When these little mini-mascara stylee products turned up, I knew I had to try them straight away. I was instantly surprised by the little tube of magic as it was so quick and easy to apply, and it filled my eyebrows in instantly.

Gimme Brow's cute tiny brush is amazing at getting right in the gaps and combing those strays in place. The formula is created so that it actually thickens your brows, and I believe it does this too. I find the product isn't too thick, avoiding those unnatural slugs. I think the two shades (light/medium and medium/dark) are just right and probably wearable for most people; the lighter shade is better for me but they're both buildable.

I've never tried a brow tint/gel before so I don't have much to compare it too but boy does the Gimme Brow work; so much so that I've been wanting to flash my eyebrows..get me!

Here's a little photo that doesn't quite show you that I applied Gimme Brow to my right eyebrow. I couldn't get a decent swatch of this on my unsightly eyebrows so this is the best of the lot!

february favourites

I feel like February has been a very long month, but considering it's the shortest, I'm not quite sure why! I've been trying to mix up my everyday routine a bit and I've been trying out new products, so February has seen some new favourites creep in.

A couple of these items are on the cheaper side and definitely more practical products but there's a few more luxury items that I've treated myself too that I've been loving.

What have you been loving this month?
