the big brush clean.

I'm hoping from these two photos you can see a difference and unfortunately by the time I washed the brushes the light had gone so the photos vary slightly which is annoying!

I clean my brushes pretty regularly but I do have to admit, it's not every week because I'm quite a lazy person and I just forget...we're all human right? However, for the last couple of months I've had extremely bad spots (for me), mainly in my chin area and I happened to come across an article about how many horrid germs are in your makeup brushes...let alone the bag itself!! After reading this I wanted to wash all my brushes and my makeup bag thoroughly, so that's what I did.

I usually just use whatever shampoo or hand wash I have lying around (that I don't mind wasting), aswell as the No7 Makeup Brush Cleanser which you can see a little in the second picture. I just place a puddle of shampoo and this cleanser into my hand and swish and squeeze the brushes around until no more makeup runs out, easy! Normally I have to repeat this quite a lot but lots of water usually does the trick.

I realised that I had neglected my powder/kabuki brush for a while, I just didn't think it would be as germ ridden as the foundation and concealer brushes but I'm probably wrong.

As well as having clean brushes and a clean makeup bag, I'm hoping this might help to clear my spotty chin slightly. I'm going to make sure I do wash my brushes at least once a week now because it really is quite horrible to let them get too dirty.

Do you use anything specific to wash your brushes?

Primark video shoot!

I've been a bit quiet on the blog this week but I've come back with a very exciting post!

I was amazed to be contacted by Primark a few weeks ago to be part of a video shoot for a Christmas campaign for their new website. It was even more exciting when I found out my friend Megan, who's also got a fabulous blog, was doing it too and her uni friend Nick was joining us aswell.

So on Friday I headed to Primark HQ which was so exciting; we had to buzz in and wait in reception for Laura who was going to be looking after us. Me and Megan started getting very excited being in the exciting hub of Primark.

We were lead through the offices (which was pretty cool) until we reached head office and the studio. The studio looked amazing, with the Christmas set up and the Christmassy clothes (amazing jumpers, leggings, socks etc) all lined up ready for us. Richard and Helen were doing the filming and styling for the day and they made us feel so comfortable and made it really fun.

I had the most amazing day with some really lovely people and I can't thank Laura and the Primark team enough. There will be teaser videos going up on Primark's Instagram before the final video goes live on their new website, so stay tuned! I will let you know when it's up anyway.

I hope you like the photos and if you want to see some more, check out my Instagram

If this doesn't make you excited for Christmas, I don't know what will!!

REN ClearCalm3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser

I thought I would give a review on the REN ClearCalm3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser. A year ago I would never have bought this as I would've said it was too expensive, but blogging sure does change you! The main reason why I got this is because my skin has been quite bad lately and I have a cluster of spots around my chin and cheek area. I think this is partly hormonal and probably my lack of water and healthy eating. (oops)

I had used this cleanser before but I decided to invest in it myself; I love the scent, I think it smells of lavender, but it's very subtle and not overpowering. It has a lovely creamy clay texture and I massage it all around my dry face for 1-2 minutes (as instructed).

It doesn't work miracles; it doesn't make spots disappear but it definitely calms them down and reduces the redness. I also think it's helping prevent my spots from getting worse, rather than them getting out of control!

I have been loving this so far and I do think it's worth the £18 price tag and if my skin continues in this bad way, I may have to repurchase when it runs out.

LUSH haul

I have been craving baths a lot more lately; I love the idea of just laying in warmth and relaxing, so I knew it was about time to invest in some LUSH treats. The bottom two bombs are the first ones I got, but on a little shopping trip yesterday, I bought four Christmassy ones.

I've already used Fizzbanger as I love this one, it has popping candy in it and smells delicious. I'm super excited to use the Chrismassy ones but they're almost too pretty to use.

I do think their products are slightly overpriced; £3.95 to enjoy a bath? But nonetheless, they do make a bath much more enjoyable don't they? And how AMAZING is this packaging?

I've got five lovely baths to look forward to so I'm happy and I think the spending will be worth it.

Who else loves a LUSH bath? Which products are your favourites?

red red wine

This is one of my go to outfits at the moment; smock dresses are perfect with tights and for a comfy weekend and this cardigan is so cosy!

I wore this outfit in my latest Lookbook so if you want to see this outfit in action and other outfits, click here.

I'm loving my new Boohoo boots which are great with outfits like this; they're girly with the heel but slightly grungy with the laces.

Hope you like my outfit!

L'Oreal Micellar Solution

So on my latest peruse of Boots (which is very often now I work just a minute away from one), I fell for the 3 for 2 offer on skincare. As well as grabbing Soap & Glory’s Scrub of Your Life and Clean on Me shower gel, I ran to the till with this Micellar water by L’Oreal. With my friend Lydia’s recommendation and the Micellar hole in my life, I knew this had to be my freebie.

L’Oreal’s solution claims to be a 3 in 1; dissolving makeup, unclogging pores/removing impurities and toning/soothing skin. I have only used this to take my makeup off, rather than as a toner, but boy does it get rid of those pesky panda eyes. My Superdrug eye makeup remover wasn’t quite making the cut and this bottle of goodness has saved me from using 100s of cotton pads.

I love the packaging, it’s simple but sophisticated and it comes in at just under £5 so it’s the perfect bargain! My only gripe would be the pouring facilities, I have spilt this quite a few times as it comes out such a big hole.

I’m really glad I chose to try this out with the 3 for 2 offer in Boots but I would definitely purchase this again as it’s such good value for money. I have heard it’s great for the toning too, but I’m unsure if this will unclog my pores on its own.

Have you tried this little bottle of goodness?

wonderful weekends.

Skirt: Topshop

I have to admit that I really love this outfit; I particularly love the colours in the shirt and my new boots have already become my favourite. I think this outfit is going to be great for those colder days as I can wear it with even thicker tights and layer up with a coat and scarf.

I'm really sad that the weekend is nearly over, I've had such a lovely fun filled few days going to see Thor, doing some window shopping, drinking a gorgeous Costa Gingerbread Latte, having lunch out, watching some fireworks and having a play around with my new MacBook.

Talking of the MacBook, I decided to bite the bullet this week and I am in love. At the moment I'm trying to get my head around all the shortcuts etc. but I am loving it. I'm about to start editing my first video on iMovie so that should be interesting.

What have you all been doing this weekend? I'm definitely going to have the Monday feeling tomorrow.
