maybelline babylips

So I actually bought these while I was away in America but they have now become available in the UK so I thought what better time to share my thoughts on them?

If you don't know Maybelline Babylips are a scented, slightly pigmented lip balm for a very reasonable price: £2.99.

They come in four shades and the two I have are Cherry Me and Pink Punch. I love these cute little products as they are really moisturising and give a nice amount of pigmentation. Pink Punch is a really bright baby pink and Cherry Me is a red coral shade.

I don't normally like a makeup product to have a scent but these are fairly subtle and have a nice fruity twang to them. They aren't obviously as pigmented as a lipstick but for a balm they give a really nice amount of colour to your lips.

I would really recommend you give these ago when they become more readily available and I'd love to see what the other shades are like.

simply black

Playsuit: H&M
Sandles: Topshop
Nails: Barry M Gelly Greenberry
Watch: ASOS
Bag: H&M
Sunglasses: Primark
I know this outfit isn't the most exciting but I wanted to share my favourite item of clothing with you; my H&M playsuit. I bought this a couple of months ago to wear while I was away as it's so comfy and lightweight, it was just ideal for the hot weather. I think it was about £15 so a really affordable price too.
I love how simple it is and how it can be dressed up or down. I like to team it with my tan sandals from Topshop, these are super comfy too. I decided to wear this outfit when Dan and I went on a little day trip to a huge park where we had a picnic, ate lollies and chilled by the lake (my idea of perfection).
I have to stop myself from wearing this everyday just because it's so easy to chuck on. Who else has outfits or clothes they just can't stop wearing?

wishlist #3

Recently I have been lusting over a lot of things; having finished uni and working part-time I'm having to be careful with my money and petrol comes first *sobs*.

I thought I would share some of the things I've been looking into lately...

1) Vera Wang Floral Rush Eau De Parfum 30ml: I've been wanting to introduce a new perfume into my life lately; I have used Juicy Couture's Viva La Juicy for a couple of years now and to be honest I can't really smell it anymore. My friend Lydia told me about this perfume as it's got a gorgeous scent and Boots have got it for a very good price at the moment. The other advantage with this scent is that it's a Parfum and not an Eau de Toilette so it's more likely to last longer.

2) Mulberry Willow Tote: So I know this is a bit extravagent but I have been wanting a Mulberry bag for a very long time now; my parents used to call me 'the bag lady' when I was little because I had so many handbags lying around (I still do). My plan is to start saving for a Mulberry, preferably a Willow, when I get a full time job; I really want to be able to buy something special (to me) and be proud of what I can achieve. For me a designer handbag is perfect, being practical and gorgeous!

3) Dove Complete Care & Repair Leave In Conditioner Spray: This is on the other end of the price scale, currently at £1.79 in Boots. I have the other version of this which I really love so I want to try this one while it's still at such a great price.

4) Bourjois Paris Colour Boost Lip Crayon (On the Beach): These have been circulating the blogging network lately and unfortunately I've fallen for their spells. My favourite lip product of all time has to be the Revlon Kissable Lip Balm Stains and these are very similar but with a bit more gloss to them. I would love to give these a go as they have some really pretty colours and they're meant to be more moisturising.

5) Origins Ginzing Energy Boosting Moisturiser: My skin hasn't been too great recently and I've decided that I ought to invest in a decent moisturiser. I love the idea of this energy boosting formula as it would be great to apply of a morning and wake me up!

6) River Island Black Cut Out Chunky Buckle Ankle Boots: I've also fallen for the 'cut out boot' trend as I love them alongside cute girly dresses creating a contrast. I really like these River Island ones, I think they're really wearable.

What do you think of the products I'm currently lusting over?

Las Vegas & Grand Canyon

So these are the pictures from the next part of our American Adventure; we set off to Las Vegas after spending five days in New York which you can see HERE.

We stayed at The Luxor in Las Vegas which was surprisingly good as it was so cheap when we booked it. It was rather tacky but that's what we were expecting. I had a bit of a culture shock when we arrived with the smoking everywhere, drinking early in the morning, women dancing on the tables, the ridiculous heat and the craziness at night.

I did end up 'getting it' but I would personally not rush back. We were on travellers' budgets so struggled to fully enjoy the Las Vegas experience in my opinion.

I loved the immediacy of everything including having  Urban Outfitters on our doorstep! The pool area was pretty good so we enjoyed lounging by there in the daytime as it was too hot to do much else!

One of our favourite days was a trip to the Grand Canyon, it took a sixteen hour all round coach journey but it was truly worth it. It was something that just can't be described in words and it was a great experience; I'm so glad I can say I've been there now. I would really recommend people do the trip if they can.

You can see our Las Vegas and Grand Canyon time in this vlog.
Who else has been here? I hope you like the photos, including the gimmicky one!

pretty primark

Dress: Primark
Boots: Topshop
Belt: Primark

I have wanted to start integrating outfit posts onto my blog a bit more again as I was struggling to do it before, but I have found a little spot in the garden which makes it a lot better for me to get decent shots so I thought what better day than today to start it off again!

I literally bought this dress yesterday and I am in love. It's quickly becoming a 'blogger' dress, along with the other lovely one which you can get on ASOS; I really want to get this one too but it wasn't actually in the store I visited yesterday.

I love the style and pattern of this dress and at £13 it was a fraction of the price that Topshop would sell it for. I also bought another gorgeous dress for a measly £5, you can see it on my Instagram but I may show you on the blog soon.

I hope you like the dress and look forward to future outfit posts.

my graduation outfit

Dress: AX Paris via New Look
Shoes: Primark
Watch: ASOS
Nails: Essie Fiji
This week I graduated so I thought I would share my outfit with you.
I absolutely fell in love with this dress when I saw it in New Look and I'm so grateful to Dan and his mum for kindly buying it for me. I did get rid of the belt and loops though, I didn't think it needed it!
The shoes were the perfect colour match and I just had to get them; they were probably higher than I would've liked to have worn but they were fairly comfortable and luckily I still didn't trip!

I just such a lovely time graduating and the weather was lovely, although slightly too hot to wear a black gown! If you didn't know I studied English Literature and Film Studies and I'm pleased to say that I got a 2:1, now it's job hunting time!

I hope you liked my choice of outfit, who else has just graduated?

fish n' chips

Sorry about this rather picture heavy post but I am loving taking my camera out and about with me and I wanted to share some of my favourite photos. I went to the cute beach town that is Whistable yesterday with my two pals Lydia and Anna. It was the perfect evening filled with sunshine, ice creams, the sea, pebbles, fish & chips and giggles.

If you live anywhere near Whistable in Kent then you will know how lovely it is in the evening with the beautiful sunset; it really was gorgeous. I'm so glad we decided to 'pop' down there and I already want to go back. I hope you like these lifestyle posts, I certainly love sharing my outings and photos with you!

What has everyone else been doing in this amazing weather?

MAC Lady Danger

MAC Lady Danger

I wanted to dedicate a post to this beautiful lipstick; MAC Lady Danger. My lovely girlfriends got this for my birthday and I absolutely love it! I wanted a red/orange shade in my collection and this certainly fits the bill.

It's a matte finish which I personally prefer; it applies beautifully and lasts a really long time.
I would recommend this lipstick if you're after a bright lip like I was, I can't wait to keep wearing this.

I hope you like today's swatch post and I'd be happy to do some more of my favourite lipsticks if you were interested?

I featured this lipstick in my June Favourites video which you can watch HERE or below!

P.S. I hope you like my new blog design? My lovely sister created it for me.

New York, New York

I personally love reading lifestyle posts and I wanted to share my time in America with you so I thought I would start with New York.  I’ll try not to go into too much detail but I thought I would take it day by day and show you some of my favourite pictures.
When we got to JFK we knew we were headed for the Metro as we had decided before we left England that we would attempt to get to our hotel via the subway than pay ridiculous taxi prices. I was pleasantly surprised about how easy it was to navigate and to move our huge luggage. I would say on average that their subway is far less cramped and busy than our London tube.
We were staying in the Americana Inn which we knew wasn’t going to be a five star hotel; everywhere in New York is pretty pricey so we were lucky to find a budget hotel. We actually had a shared bathroom but we only had to share with one other couple and it was never a problem, we always got in when we wanted to and on the whole it was pretty clean. The hotel had a slight issue with noise as the window was practically open due to the position of the air con machine but with ear plugs it was bearable! Luckily there was a Pret next door which served us well with free WIFI and healthy breakfasts.

It was lovely and sunny when we arrived in NYC so we decided to head to Central Park straight away. I absolutely loved it here and could’ve explored it for days; the boating lake is just idyllic. After a chilled couple of hours we headed to fifth avenue for a bit of window shopping; unfortunately neither of us were there to shop, we were on travellers' budgets and had to be careful.

The next day we decided to walk in a different direction and came across Bryant Park which is a lovely relaxing and clean park to escape from the craziness of the city. We jumped on the subway and headed Downtown to visit the 9/11 memorial; this was really important for me as it’s always fascinated me. It was an incredible sight; the memorial pools were really quite something.

After this we headed to get a boat to see the Statue of Liberty; I loved seeing the statue but the boat was packed full of annoying tourists which always irritates me. Next time I’ll hire my own yacht (yeah right). On the boat we cruised under the Brooklyn Bridge which was really great, I loved it’s design.
That day we visited China Town, Union Square and Madison Square Park, all of which were so different but so interesting. I loved Madison Square Park and we chilled on the grass for a little while; most of the parks have separate dog zones, I loved looking out for the French Bulldogs! That night we decided to go to the Top of the Rock and saw the city lit up, again there were too many people but the views were amazing, especially of the Empire State Building. Next time I would definitely do one or the other in the daytime. That night we had heard that a tropical storm was going to hit us the next day so we trekked to Times Square late that night so we could enjoy it in dry conditions. I loved the buzz and the atmosphere here.
The next day we walked The High Line which we both loved; it was a lovely chilled out walk (I’m unsure how long it was), seeing back streets of New York. On our way back we spotted a Five Guys which we had to indulge in, it was amazing (It’s actually arrived at the UK now apparently so this makes me happy!) The rest of the day was spent chilling in Central Park and visiting Tiffany so Dan could get me my 21st birthday ring (you can see it if you watch the vlog).
Unfortunately the next day it had started to chuck it down so we ran to H&M and both bought incredibly sexy ponchos (not). We went to visit the infamous Grand Central station as it was indoors; it was so pretty and I wish one of our stations was as pretty. We both decided that we should try and get Broadway tickets for that night, which meant standing in the torrential rain for more than hour but we managed to get tickets for Once! I absolutely loved the show, the music is Irish folk type music and I loved the originality of it; Dan actually enjoyed it too (he’s not a big fan of musicals) as it’s so different.
The next day we had to get up early for our flight to Las Vegas. We were glad to escape the rain but I was sad to leave NYC, I really loved it and I already can’t wait to go back, I would love to go Christmas time next time! I hope you enjoyed today’s post and found it helpful if you’re heading there. I’m hoping to do all the other places too so stay tuned.

Check out the VLOG: Part One, which is NYC and Las Vegas.
