Back with another outfit post today. I've been a bit quiet this week because I've got essays for uni which will mean things might be like it next week too.
Proper blogging will commence soon though!
I hope you're all having good weekends.

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo, Boots, £13
I've never really had a major problem with spots or imperfections. I do suffer with blackheads and hormonal breakouts, but I have never used a specific spot treatment, instead I normally just settle for a cleansing routine.

About a month or two ago, I started developing quite bad spots on my chin, cheeks and forehead. I'm unsure why these appeared but it's probably a mixture of stress, bad eating and my hormones.

After reading a lot about La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo, it sounded like the perfect solution for me as it's meant to prevent and reduce spots and imperfections. However, I didn't want to succumb to the £13 price tag, and I was worried it was just another 'blogger fad'.

After realising that it's a proper dermatologist product and contains lots of active ingredients, proven to reduce spots, rather than a beauty product, I thought it was probably worth the hype.

I was pleased to find it on offer in Boots, as part of a '2 for £15' (offer still on). I decided to purchase this and the Foaming Cleanser (which I'll review at a later date). I think the fact I got this for nearly half price (if you think about it like that), it's definitely worth a try.

I have to say I have noticed a huge improvement since using this, day and night. After the first application, my spots had calmed down by the morning. I use this as part of a night skincare routine with a cleanser, applying this after, instead of a moisturiser as I don't feel like I need to use one alongside it.

In the morning I use it after cleansing, instead of moisturiser and before primer. Sometimes I just apply it to the troubled areas, rather than all over my face but it makes my spots appear less red and sore, and makes my face feel soft.

I'm not overly keen on the scent, but I like that it's obviously not packed with synthetic ingredients.

This isn't a total miracle worker, it hasn't got rid of one of my worst spots quickly but it's slowly working it's magic and it's definitely prevented my spots from getting worse or developing heads.

Overall I really am glad I spent the money on this product as I wasn't happy with my skin before I used it. I'm not sure I'll continue using it every day if my skin is better, but I know it will come to the rescue if I need it too!

Have you tried this?

VIDEO: My Dad Does My Makeup

Now I don't like to put too many of my videos on here as I know not everybody likes watching them, but I thought I would show you this one as you might enjoy it...

It's a bit of a silly one as I got my Dad to do my makeup!

There's some extra bloopers at the end so if you fancy watching it, it might give you a smile.

I'll be posting an actual post soon, but for now, enjoy!

something on a sunday: back to black

Jacket: Urban Outfitters
Dress: ASOS
Tights: Primark
Bag: Ebay
Boots: New Look
Necklace: Primark
Sorry about my weekend post being so late, I've been having a bad day (and week) with technology. My laptop charger has broken so it's a stressful process at the moment and my internet has been so bad, I haven't been able to upload today's video on my YouTube.

Anyway, enough with the moaning! This has to be my favourite item of clothing at the moment and you would have seen it in this outfit post, not that long ago. As I've been wearing this dress quite a bit lately I thought I would show you how I wear it in the daytime, rather than how I showed you before.

It's one of those lovely simple tunic/dresses that can be a great transitional piece. Black has to be my favourite colour to wear, if you can class it as a colour. I find it flattering and it's just so easy to wear.

I'm going to keep this post short as I'm draining the internet just by doing this.

I hope you like my outfit!

revlon just bitten kissable lip stain

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain in Lovesick, £7.99
I had heard some pretty good things about these Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stains but I wasn't overly keen on buying one. I have never liked a lip stain and favour lipsticks, but these came on offer for £5 instead of £7.99 so I decided to try the gorgeous bright pink shade, Lovesick.

What can I say? These are AMAZING. When I first applied this, I was a little put off by the medicinial scent but I pushed through and this product just got better and better.

Not only does this little beauty have amazing pigmentation after a few strokes, it lasts an extremely long time, much longer than a lipstick. It didn't give me that horrible effect of having lipstick building up on the outer edges of your lips after a while, it faded evenly.

I love the packaging of these lip stains as they come in a cute crayon-like applicator, much like the Clinique Chubby Sticks. They have been highly rated against the high-end version too and are half the price!

I can't fault this lip product, other than the funny smell and the slightly glossy look on first application (I prefer a matte finish but that's down to personal opinion).

I think this is a gorgeous bright pink shade and I really can't wait to try more of them now, although I will still probably wait for them to be on offer.

Have you tried these or are you interested in them?

just an everyday outfit...

Jacket: Primark
Cardigan: H&M
Top: All Saints
Jeans: Topshop
Boots: New Look
I wore this outfit when I went to uni the other day. I know it's not very exciting but not all outfits can be amazing right?

I think it's nice to see what people actually wear day to day and this is just something I put together quickly.

I'm currently getting ready to go out for dinner and a bit of window shopping with my friend Sarah. I can't wait to get out the house, it feels like I've been stuck indoors  a lot lately.

Did everybody enjoy pancake day?

primark haul in pictures #2

Men's hoodie: £10
Sports bra: £4
Dork t-shirt: £4
120 Denier tights: £2.50
Speckled jumper: £10
Bird necklace: £3
Cross earrings: £1.50
Cross necklace: £2
It's that time again...I've been shopping in Primark.
I know a trip to Primark is always full of bargains but I really think this shop was particularly good for what I got. I've been wanting one of their American Apparel dupe hoodies for a while now and I decided to purchase this men's one as I loved the coral colour and I prefer the baggier fit. This was a bargain at £10 when they're usually more.
I'm so pleased I found this Topshop dupe of the Dork t-shirt at a fraction of the price. It was only £4 and the quality is pretty good. I love wearing my Topshop Geek t-shirt so this has added to my collection.
The jumper has to be my favourite part of the haul. I think it's amazing quality and really unusual for £10 from Primark. I can't wait to wear this and show you in an outfit post. I think the detailing is lovely.
I hope you enjoyed my latest haul and if you want to see the items in more detail and me talking about them, click HERE to see my video or find it below.
Thanks for reading!

all of your flaws

Jumper: Ebay
Shirt: Primark
High Shine Leggings: American Apparel
Bag: Ebay
Boots: New Look
I know this outfit isn't the most exciting one but it's one of those outfits that I throw on when I don't know what to wear.

I love wearing shirts under jumpers, I think it looks cute and different. This jumper definitely has to be my favourite jumper and I'm so glad I purchased it on Ebay a while ago; I love the flecky pink pattern.

The bag and boots are my staple items at the moment; the boots are so comfy and unique from New Look and the bag is an amazing purchase from Ebay which has lasted so long and remained so sturdy.

I hope you like my go-to outfit.

Who else has items of clothing they always reach for?

my hair savior: the tangle teezer

Tangle Teezer, £10.99

Lately my hair has been a bit of a mess and it never seems to blow dry and straighten very well.

I also have the added problem of my hair falling out everywhere and really infuriating my boyfriend and parents, oops.

I decided the main cause of these problems was the use of a very cheap brush that I had bought in Wilkinsons. I'm sure cheap brushes are fine for the odd occasion, but I could tell with the way I was yanking the tangles out my hair that it wasn't doing it any favours.

I bit the bullet and invested in a Tangle Teezer after reading so many good reviews about them. They are pretty pricey at £10.99 but I really think they're well worth it.

They were created by a hair colourist that found brushing clients' wet hair extremely difficult so he decided to invent this little wonder. He actually went on Dragon's Den a few years ago to get funding but they all thought it wouldn't work and now he's probably a millionaire. (Nice bit of trivia for you there)

I got a pink one and because they fit nicely in your hand, I think they're super cute and easily portable. I have found this to do exactly what it should, making brushing my wet or dry hair so much easier and gentler.

I don't have extremely thick hair but I have a lot of it and I find it's good to take the hair in sections when brushing it through.

Since using this I have found my hair to be so much softer and silkier once dried and straightened and the condition of my hair seems to have improved.

I know it's very expensive for a hairbrush essentially but when I've taken years to grow my hair, I think a bit of TLC doesn't go a-miss and I really think it's worth every penny!

Have you got a Tangle Teezer? What are your thoughts about them?

something on a sunday: 'out out'

Dress: ASOS
Boots: Topshop
Necklace: Primark
Bag: Primark
Watch: ASOS
(Sorry about the second photo being in flash and me looking like a tomato)

I wore this outfit last night when I went out for drinks.
I don't often go 'out out'. I live at home while I'm studying at uni as I wasn't overly fussed about having the typical uni 'experience'. I can't think of anything worse than going out every other night, getting hot and sweaty while smelly boys ogle grossly at you. I know I sound like a granny and you probably think I need to get a life but I love nothing more than going out for dinner, followed by the cinema, finished off with a cup of tea in bed watching my favourite TV.

I do love having nights out with my girlfriends when I do and I've had some amazing nights recently. I was rather looking forward to going out for a few drinks down a local pub last night as I hadn't been 'out' in a while. I had such a lovely night and I'm so glad me and the boyfriend went.

I decided to wear this swing dress from ASOS which is my new favourite item in my wardrobe, I know it's slightly boring but I think it's classy, yet 'different'. My boyfriend's Nan is a whiz when it comes to clothing alterations so I asked her to take it up for me but leave length at the back.  I teamed it with my favourite Topshop boots with a little heel so I wasn't too uncomfortable and my new Primark purchases which I really think made the outfit.

Am I the only granny out there?

This video shows you how I did the makeup in this post
