MUA lipsticks

So I have become slightly obsessed with lipsticks but I'm trying not to spend too much at the moment so when I went into Superdrugs I thought I would have a look at the MUA stand where (I think) nearly everything is £1. I was searching through the lipsticks and chose four of my favourite colours and I went for it.

Although I spent £4 and bought four lipsticks, that's still cheaper than buying one with most brands.

I bought a coral colour which is my favourite (Juicy Shade 15), a bright pink shade (Shade 3), a dark purple (Shade 2) and a shimmery coral/red (Shade 7).

The coral one is the most matte and it's my favourite. I would say it's a pretty good dupe for NARS Bolero and in between two of the Topshop lipstick shades: Powder Room and Coy

Anyway, I won't go on, I'll just show you the pictures!

From bottom to top: shade 15, shade 7, shade 3 and shade 2
I actually really like the packaging too. It's really simple with the black but MUA add their own little touch with the silver writing and the coloured ends.
(I would say the lipsticks are more shimmery than in this picture)
From left to right: 15, 3, 7 & 2

Ok this is my favourite shade out of all of these lipsticks (even though it does make me look rather washed out in this picture). It's labelled as 'Lipstick Juicy Shade 15' and there is also a 'new' label, which obviously shows this is one of their more recent shades. I really love this colour because I have wanted a coral/nude lipstick for such a long time. My Barry M 147 is so similar but I don't really like the chalky substance. As I said before this is very similar to the NARS Bolero which I have wanted for ages but not wanted to splash the cash. I am beyond shocked that this lipstick is a £1; now I have bought it and love the colour, I really would be willing to pay so much more for this shade. I wouldn't say the picture is the exact colour so hopefully it will be more obvious in future posts. I really recommed buying this if you fancied a nudey/coral lipstick and its ONLY A POUND.

This is definately my second favourite, it's an extremely bright pink (as you can see). I have been after this sort of colour for a long time too and I've been looking at Topshop Brighton Rock and I actually think this is very similar. Again this way only ONE POUND (get it yet?) and I just can't believe the quality. I wore it out the other day and I only had to apply it for a couple of times which I thought was amazing. I would say it has a slight shimmer to it but not overly and it makes it looks more glossy that glittery. Again I love this lipstick shade and I would definately say it's worth more than £1.

This is probably my least favourite shade out of the four as it's too shimmery for my liking. I think it would be a lovely colour if it wasn't so glittery. Again for someone that really likes the shade then it's obviously well worth £1. I don't feel guilty for buying it because it was so cheap and I'm sure I will wear it if i mix it with another colour.

This dark purple shade is bordering on Halloween make-up but the more I try it out, the more I like it and these dark lipsticks are popular at the moment. This colour isn't for everybody and if you are pale (like me) it probably doesn't look as good as it would on someone more tanned. Although perhaps this lipstick is better when there's more of a contrast, I'm not sure?

Overall I cannot believe the quality of these lipsticks and their colours at the price of £1. I know I have said that a lot but really I can't and I hope you agree with me! They have so many other other shades but none of the others particularly excited me, but I will have to have another look now. I would say if you are on a budget and you really fancy some new make up, definately check out the MUA products in Superdrug. (It's really starting to sound like I work for them but I don't, I promise!)

I hope you love these lipsticks as much as me.

Have any of you tried out the MUA products or are you going to look out for them now?

Thanks for reading, as usual!

revlon colorstay foundation review.

Ok so I finally took the plunge and got a new foundation to try. I think foundations are so expensive but they do last FOREVER so I suppose you get what you pay for and I think it's rather essential. This one retails at about £12.50 which does seem expensive to me but it's a quality brand.

I was using the Maybelline Superstay 24hr Foundation before, which I did really like because it normally lasted me a working day, but I don't think the shade I had was 100% right for me and they don't have many different shades so I didn't have much to choose from!

I had heard good things about this Revlon ColorStay Foundation so I thought I would give it a go. I've been using it for about a week now and I'm really impressed with the quality. I got the Normal/Dry skin in shade Buff as my face doesn't get too greasy luckily.

The shade is quite light but I'm not sure if I just think that because my last foundation was too dark for my skin; this one is definately more matched to my skin tone but I don't know how good that will be in the summer.

The quality of the foundation is lovely. It's so smooth and easy to apply and it feels really light and not 'cakey' like some foundations do. It really doesn't feel like I'm wearing much make up (even though i am wearing a fair bit). I would say it hasn't got a massively high full coverage and I do have to apply a couple of 'layers' but it does look pretty flawless once I've done that.

One main downfall is that it doesn't have a pump so I have to pour a bit on my hand and then apply it from that so I sometimes have some wastage but I try and put it back in the bottle if I can.

Boots write, "Do you want make-up that is flawless looking and weightless for 16 perfect hours? Revlon® has the solution - ColorStay® Makeup with SoftFlex® Foundation."

I definately agree with the idea that this foundation is 'weightless' but I definately don't think it stays 'flawless' for '16 perfect hours' because I don't think it lasts as long as the Maybelline one did.

I really believe that it takes a lot to find the 'perfect' foundation because they all have pros and cons for different people but I do really like this one and I'm very happy to keep using it.

It's my birthday soon(ish) and I would really like to ask for Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place foundation just because I personally much prefer the full coverage look but I can't justify spending £26.50 on a foundation for myself so I think it will have to be a present.

I hope you enjoyed this post and I'd love to hear from anyone that uses this Revlon foundation and what you think?

I'd also love for people to tell me whether Estee Lauder really is worth investing in?
