something on a sunday: what I got for christmas

It's been a little while since I last posted, obviously because it has been Christmas and I've been pretty busy. I hope I'm not the only one feeling the post-Christmas blues. I had a lovely few days but it's slightly sad to go back to normal life sometimes.

I really enjoy reading other people's posts about what they got for Christmas so I thought I'd share some of the bits I got. I have filmed a video but due to me getting a new (DSLR) camera for Christmas, I'm having trouble uploading it with my rubbish laptop, but I'm still trying my best to get it up.

As I've just said, I got a new camera for Christmas which I shared with you on my Christmas wish list and it is the Canon 600D. I'm still trying to get my head and hands around it so excuse the dark pictures, even though that is because I took them in the evening (always a bad idea).

Anyway...enjoy!

So as you can see, the main items I got were:
(click on the items to go to the websites)

Canon EOS 600D DSLR (inc 18-55mm lens): My parents and boyfriend Dan came together to get this for me (for xmas and my 21st combined).I am loving this so far but I have been having little wobbles over it because it is such a step up from my other camera! I love the challenge of it all but I definitely wouldn't take on a DSLR too lightly. I also got a camera case and SD card to go along with it.

Pugs Not Drugs jumper: I love this slogan and I've been eyeing up these t-shirts and jumpers in Urban Outfitters for ages and my boyfriend got the hint. It's so cosy and warm!

Topshop Geek t-shirt: Again, this is another item I've been wanting for a long time and I love it. It looks great with a high waisted black skirt and my American Apparel high shine leggings.

Topshop Fleck Oversized top: I already have one of these in black and it's a staple in my wardrobe because I can put it with anything, particularly leggings. I love this speckled grey version and I've been wearing it a lot already. (outfit post feat this coming soon!)

Blog Inc book: I had asked for this and my parents got it for me. It's a really interested book by a long running design blogger and I can't wait to sit down and read it properly. It delves into many factors and tips about blogging, making it very informative and inspiring.

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish: I have been wanting this for a while but didn't really want to spend £5 on nail polish remover (stingy I know). I wish I had now because it really is magic. It removes nail polish so quickly and does a good job at removing the majority of glitter polish too. In a way I think it is worth the £5 because I don't have to waste loads of cotton pads!

Soap & Glory Clean on Me, Heel Genius and Wash Your Hands of it: I had asked for more Soap & Glory bits and these were the products I got. The only one I've used so far is Clean on Me (shower lotion) and I'm already loving it.

LUSH Lip Scrub in Popcorn and LUSH Butterball bath bombs: I had also asked for some LUSH products and these are the lovely products I got. I haven't used the bombs yet but can't wait to. The lip scrub is a really lovely idea and product and I can't wait to use this more regularly.

Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray: I've wanted to try Bumble & Bumble products for a long time now and I was treated to this cute little Surf Spray and I can't wait to give this a go.

Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy Eau de Parfum: This is my all time favourite perfume and I was so pleased to get a new bottle because my other bottle had literally just run out.

River Island via ASOS earrings: I love these earrings, they are all so cute and because I now have two ear holes, I wanted some new studs in my collection.

I hope you enjoyed my Christmas post. I did get other little bits in my stocking etc and I got some money which I'm planning to spend on camera accessories and I may have made a cheeky high-end foundation purchase (post coming soon). I can't thank my family and Dan enough for spoiling me so much!

I apoligise for it being so long but I wanted to share my bits with you. Keep an eye out for lots of reviews of these bits and bobs!

Please comment with your Christmas post links or let me know what you got as I'm rather nosy!
Thanks for reading as usual.

something on a sunday: what i've been up to

Merry Christmas Eve Eve!

Today is just a little picture post, showing you what I have been doing lately. A few of the pictures go back to last month but I thought I'd show you anyway!

Leading up to Christmas I've been seeing friends, eating out too much and getting festive with wrapping and decorating.

winter face | fireworks | snow | and again | girls | christmas tree | creative wrapping | obsessed with cooking |
winter wonderland | fun times | work do | new boots

I need to make sure I take more pictures when I'm doing more exciting things because I always forget.

So it's only two sleeps till Christmas eeee and I'm very excited for lots of food, family and presents (of course).

If I don't blog before, have a GREAT CHRISTMAS!

Thanks for reading as usual, I really appreciate it.

winter wonderland.

So Christmas is fast approaching and I am getting more and more excited! I think I look forward to it more now than I did when I was little, or maybe just for different reasons. I love coming together with my family and having a lovely time eating lots of food and playing board games.

I've never been to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park before and I was determined to go this year. Me and my boyfriend decided to book ice skating because we thought if we are there, then we may aswell. I'm really glad we did because that was definately the best bit.

If I ever went again I would definitely not go the week before Christmas because it was a nightmare to be honest; I felt like I was being pushed and shoved from every direction.

My boyfriend Dan was determined to win me a giant Hello Kitty on one of those stands but I said they are such a waste of money. He persuaded me in the end and we were so lucky and actually won, without having to spend more than £5!

Here's a few snaps..

I hope you liked looking at my pictures.
Have any of you been to Winter Wonderland and who's excited for Christmas?

the perfect bobble hat

I have to start by apoligising for not posting yesterday, I was rather busy with family and Christmas things and I didn't want to post any old thing, just for the sake of it.

Today I went to meet my two lovely friends Sarah and Lydia and we had a lovely lunch!

I wasn't actually planning on taking outfit pictures today but I wanted to show you my new bobble hat. I've got my lovely one from Primark but I really wanted a red/burgandy one. Topshop had a lush one but I could never find it and I wasn't overly keen on spending £14. I then found this little beauty in New Look and with student discount it was a bargainous £4.50!

They have a few different colours too so check them out here.

Hat: New Look
Jacket: Miss Selfridge
Jumper: Primark
Skirt: Topshop
Super Cosy Tights: Primark
Boots: Miss Selfridge

My new Super Cosy tights from Primark deserve a mention too. A lot of bloggers really recommend them in the Winter and I couldn't wait to get my hands on a pair. I'm glad I did, they are so thick and have an inner fleecy lining. I need to get another pair!

Check out a new video I've uploaded today which is a primark haul.

Thanks for reading!
Who's getting excited for Christmas now!?

just another outfit post...

My title is so original huh?

So today I've just got a little outfit post for you. I'm starting to get mega excited about Christmas now and I'm trying to contain it so I don't get too distracted from uni work!

It's quite a simple outfit but I haven't shown you my denim/leather jacket before so I thought I would...

Jacket: Urban Outfitters
Top: All Saints
High Shine Leggings: American Apparel
Bag: Ebay
Shoes: Primark

Lipstick: No7 Gay Geranium (link)

This is also a good chance for me to show you one of my favourite lipsticks at the moment. I was really desperate to get MAC's Morange but I didn't want to spend £14 on a lipstick at the time.

I happened to go into Boots and had a No7 voucher so I was searching through their makeup and I found this little beauty. It's a lovely bright orange shade and it is so similar to MAC Morange. I will probably do a proper post which will be dedicated to this lipstick shade.

Is anybody else getting excited for Christmas yet?

something on a sunday: feeling festive

My favourite hat: Primark
Christmas jumper: Primark
(this was taken before my new hair)

Hi everyone!
So I do apoligise for posting so late but I've been a bit silly today. Basically (as I have said before) I have two (3500 word) essays due in at the end of this coming week so I've been rather stressed out lately...which has actually resulted in me getting a cold.

Today I had all day to be doing essays but what did I do?
I went and chose a Christmas tree with my parents, helped my mum decorate it and the rest of the house. I carried on with my festive mood by wrapping presents but suddenly started feeling guilty that I hadn't done any essay.

For the last few hours I've been back to essay writing and I must carry on, but I feel like I'm going to fall asleep on my laptop...not fun.

Anyway I thought I would share this rather silly festive picture of me which was meant to be part of my Primark haul video but I haven't had enough time to upload it yet. I've also given you a little peak at our Christmas tree. We aren't those perfectionist Christmas decorators, so it doesn't look like shop window material but we love it nonetheless!

I hope you are beginning to get festive like me and aren't being dragged down by uni work!

I can't wait for uni to be over this week so I can start blogging properly again and start getting really excited for Christmas.
That's enough rambling for me today...thanks for reading as always!

something on a sunday: my weekend outfit

So this weekend I have managed to get away from uni stress and went to my gorgeous friend Megan's (Meg's Budget Boutique) birthday weekend. It involved a five hour journey (train and coach) each way to get there, which was the slight downfall but my friend Lydia was my much needed travel companion.

I had a lovely time, seeing my 'besties' and we had such a laugh. I thought I would show you what I wore on Saturday night when we went out. I really like this blue velvet skater dress but I wanted to add a collar, so with some lace and my mum's brilliant skills, I enhanced the dress with a cute peter pan collar!

Dress: New Look
Boots: ASOS
Bag: Topshop

My beautiful girls.

(excuse the tipsy pouts)

I had a lovely weekend but now I have to crack on with horrible uni essays before I break up for Christmas.

Did you all have good weekends and who else likes to alter clothes like me?

winter's here.

Wow I've reached 100 followers, and one more! That really is amazing to see so thank you. It may not seem a lot to some people but it's lovely to know that people are liking my little blog.

I'm a rather happy girl today, I decided to re ombre my hair. Basically I had gone to the hairdressers to have it done proffesionally and although they got rid of all the brassiness, I wasn't overly happy with the results...it wasn't blond enough for me. After much deliberation I decided to just bleach it myself again..scary! I'm going to do a blog post on "home dying VS salon dying" as I now have some experience of both.

I'm rather pleased with the results which lead me to take some outfit snaps...sorry the lighting isn't great.

Top/jumper: Primark
Skirt: Topshop
Boots: Topshop
Bag: Ebay
Necklace: Primark
Belt: Primark
Hat: Primark

Coat: Primark

This is one of my favourite outfits to wear at the moment, these tops are lovely from Primark and they're only £6. The amazing parka keeps me warm when it's been very chilly so it's nice to wear with tights and a skirt.

I hope you like today's outfit and my new hair. Keep an eye out for my hair post coming soon!

something on a sunday: my favourites

Hi everyone, I hope you have all had a good weekend. Mine has been alright but I am having major stress issues; I basically have 7000 words (two essays) to write in three weeks which is starting to get to me a bit. Third year is really kicking my butt so I really do apologise if my blogging is a little lacking lately but I will try my best to keep it up!

Anyway moving on to my three favourite products at the moment which are all from Soap & Glory. I was a bit of a Soap & Glory virgin up until recently and decided to treat myself to three products in the 3 for 2 offer at Boots. So enjoy my thoughts on The Scrub of Your Life, Pulp Friction and Scrub Your Nose In It.

So as you can see I bought three scrubs which may seem a bit strange but I've never used a scrub as part of my daily routine before. I had heard good things about all three of these so I was rather excited to try them.

SOAP & GLORY SCRUB OF YOUR LIFE Now I have to admit that this is actually my favourite out of the three. I was convinced to buy this from Tanya Burr who had mentioned it in a video and I'm so glad I did. It smells BEAUTIFUL, it's so fruity, fresh and sweet, yum! Now if you don't like really sweet smelling things then this may not be the scrub of your life but it's definately mine. It doesn't just smell great, it foams up really nicely in the shower and it leaves you feeling so soft when you come out of the shower. It really is amazing and I can't recommend it enough. In fact I've already put this on my Christmas list because I don't want to run out!

SOAP AND GLORY PULP FRICTION This is another scrub that I had heard lots about and I fancied giving it a go. It definitely gives you the same results as The Scrub of Your Life, in regards to smoothness but it doesn't smell as good to me. This is a much better scrub for someone that prefers more sofisticated smells, but it is a lovely product nonetheless.

SOAP & GLORY SCRUB YOUR NOSE IN IT I think I've mentioned it on the blog before but I have trouble with the skin on my nose and the pores so I was interested to try this. The scent is very different to both of the other scrubs with a minty ingredient to it. You can actually feel this product working as it makes your face feel fresh and revitalised. It can be used as a mask aswell which is another really nice idea. I do think it reduces the bad pores on my nose and I like to use it as part of my facial routine now so again I would recommend this to anybody with nose trouble!

Who else loves these products as much as me? I can't like them enough, the packaging is so unique and retro which is another reason why they are a must have in my collection.

october favourites

Sorry about the bad lighting in this picture, I took it a bit too late. These are the products I've been loving this month. Please watch my video to find out more!

I hope you liked hearing my thoughts on these products.

something on a sunday: an insight into my christmas list

Hello everyone!
I know, I know, I haven't managed to blog in the week again...I blame too much uni work. I'm in my final year and finding it pretty tough, I have so much reading to do!
Anyway I'm going to write some posts up for this week so the blog will definately take a step forward.

Today I'm sharing an insight into my Christmas list, hopefully you will find it interesting and even get some ideas.

CANON 600D: So before you think I'm a spoilt brat, I've asked for money towards a DSLR camera for a joint Christmas and 21st birthday present. I've always loved photography, being slightly obsessed with taking pictures on my phone and I love looking at lovely photos too. I want to make photography a hobby of mine and I feel like I could take a step up from my current 'point and shoot' camera and take a leap to get a starter DSLR. This Canon seems the best for me, it's a reasonable price for what it offers and it's a popular choice amongst bloggers so I know a bit about what I'm getting. It is classed as a beginner's DSLR so I won't be too confused. It's going to take a lot of time to get used to this camera and to learn the settings, but I can't wait to get into it!

LUSH POPCORN LIP SCRUB: You might not believe this but I have never had a LUSH product! I'm not sure why, but I think it has something to do with the overpowering smell that hits you everytime you even walk passed the store! After reading blogs and watching haul videos (which is normally my downfall) I have decided that I would love to try some LUSH products and I'm particularly interested in the lip scrubs as I can't stand having dry lips. I'm also an avid lipstick wearer so it would be lovely to have a lovely soft base. I particularly like the look of the Popcorn one but they have lots of other flavours too; I say flavours because you don't have to wash these off, you can lick them off! I'm not 100% sure how I feel about that because you're essentially eating your dry skin, eww. I love the look of this product and I'm also keen on trying some bath bombs, particularly Butterball.

JUICY COUTURE, VIVA LA JUICY EDP: I have simple reasons behind this pick because this is my favourite perfume. Although last Christmas was the first time I got it, I absolutely love it. It's a fruity scent which is my favourite kind and I love the bottle (which is a must for me). I may have a try of some other perfumes soon just to check I still want the same one. I do quite like the scent of Marc Jacobs DOT but it's a flowery scent so I'm undecided...but it does have a lush bottle!

BLOG INC. BOOK: I really like the idea of this book, it's very informative about all aspects of blogging and I love the idea of having a book to look through on Christmas day (geek). I think it will give me some inspiration and will be nice to have some written tips and advice. I first saw this in Urban Outfitters in the book section and had a flick through it, but I found it on Amazon for slightly cheaper, which is always a bonus!

TOPSHOP FLECK OVERSIZED TOP: I actually already have one of these tops in black but I really fancy another colour, possibly the grey or white. I love oversized tops/jumpers which are easy to throw on over leggings and shirts to create layers. I love wrapping up in winter and these tops look great with the fitted arms and with a statement necklace. I think they are a pretty reasonable price for Topshop and I think they could be classed as a thin jumper. They do have some fairly similar tops in Primark so keep an eye out for them too.

BUMBLE AND BUMBLE TEXTURE CREME: Again I don't own any products by Bumble and Bumble, mainly because I find them quite pricey, but they've started stocking them in Boots and they have smaller bottles now, making some of the products more affordable for me. The smaller products are about half the price but probably about half the size of the bigger ones, which means it's almost like a tester. The products that interest me the most are the Texture Creme and the Surf Spray because I'm always keen on adding texture and volume to my hair.

I hope you've enjoyed the little insight into my Christmas list. I would say these are the main things on my list. Other than that I've got earrings, DVDs and other little items. I always have to make a big list because my boyfriend and his family are always asking me for MORE ideas because things sell out so much around Christmas!

I'd love to hear what you've asked for for Christmas or am I a little premature?

Thanks for reading as usual. Next Sunday I'm planning on sharing a little piece about my reasons for wearing makeup and my thoughts on it so it'll be a bit different to normal but I hope you like it!

something on a sunday: what i've been up to

I hope everyone's OK!
I definitely need to sort my blogging life out...my sunday posts are my only posts of late.
The main excuse I have is that I've had so much uni work and essays to do that I've barely had time to do anything else!

I am planning on posting more regularly now so watch this space.

So this weeks post is a little photo catch up of what I've been doing, which isn't too much unfortunately. I've been eating far too many Nandos and I met Tom and Dougie from Mcfly!

all the lipsticks in my bag | an outfit | saving pot for america | my sister's kitten Button | and again | too many milkshake and krispy kreme runs | best card | getting my hair done | meeting the boys :) | signed book | first christmas starbucks | yum

If you haven't already guessed I love food and I love Mcfly.

I hope you've had a good weekend, see you next time!

something on a sunday: my favourite autumn lipstick

Today I'm bringing you my favourite Autumn lipstick...the Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick in shade 107. The colour is a dark plum/red and is very apt for Autumn.

This shade is so popular and has been doing the blogging rounds but I definately think it deserves the attention.

The price is reasonable at £5.49 and the formula is lovely. Although it has a matte finish, it is highly moisturising and not drying at all.

I love the Rimmel lipsticks in general and I can't wait to get my hands on more of the new Matte range.

Rimmel Kate Matte Lipstick, 107

I hope you like the lipstick just as much as me and maybe you've already got it?

Thanks for reading!

something on a sunday: regaining my love for nail art

I hope you are all alright and have had good weekends; I haven't done too much but I like being chilled out. I've got a few busy weekends coming up so it's nice to relax.

I wanted to repaint my nails today (which seems to be a Sunday ritual now) and I wasn't sure what nail polish to use. I thought back to the days where I would always create different patterns and experiment with nail art and thought it was about time I did my favourite polka dot style.

I went for Essie Mint Candy Apple and used a white Rimmel nail polish to create the dots. I used the usual trick of a bobby/hair pin to create the dots by dipping them in a drop of polish (on a piece of card).

They aren't the best nails I've ever done but it was nice to get back into nail art.

Essie Mint Candy Apple

As you can slightly see I'm trying to stop biting my nails because I really miss wearing false nails but they really damaged my nails. Aside from the little finger I think I'm doing OK.

I'm no professional when it comes to nail art but I like to have fun and give it a go. Check out some of my previous posts on nail art...

I hoped you liked some of my nail art posts and I hope it's inspired you to give some a go.
If I can do it...you definately can.

mac msf soft and gentle

Today I'm sharing my favourite highlighting product with you. It's one of my expensive pieces of make-up (probably isn't expensive to some people but it is to me).

So it's the MAC Mineralise Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle.

Rather than me trying to explain it to you, I'll let MAC do that...

A luxurious velvet-soft powder with high-frost metallic finish. Smoothes on: adds buffed-up highlights to cheeks, brows, anywhere on the body: provides an ultra-deluxe polish to the skin.

MAC MSF Soft and Gentle, £21

This is one of those really versatile products; you can use it how you wish. I tend to apply it just above the apples of my cheeks, using my stippling brush to blend the shimmer towards the outer corner of my eye.

Soft and Gentle is an easy to wear shade but it's hard to describe the exact colour. In different lights it can look pink, gold or silver but overall it's gorgeous and works well with bronzer and especially blusher. There are a few other shades in the range but Soft and Gentle was my favourite.

As I said this before, this was an expensive product for me but now it's in my makeup bag I definately think it's worth every penny. Due to the shape and size of the product and the little amount of product you need, it will definately last a long time.

I hope you enjoyed today's post, who else has MAC MSF?

P.S I'm quite an excited bunny today as I went for a hair consultation and next week I'll be having a hair trim and I'll be getting my ombre style proffesionally re-done. I'm so happy about this because I've never splashed out on a proper colour before, but my hair is becoming a nightmare at the moment and it's not how I want it to be. I can't wait to show you what it looks like...watch this space.
