spoilt rotten.

I love reading Christmas present posts about what people were lucky to get so I really wanted to do my own. I was so lucky this Christmas and got everything that I wanted, if not more, so this post will be rather photo heavy, but I hope you enjoy!

This is one of my favourite presents, I decided to put this picture up
rather than photograph it as I will post about it soon.
Topshop

The following pictures are edited via Instagram on my Iphone which I'm slightly obsessed with at the moment.
My Christmas day dress, River Island

GHDs, IV styler
(my last ones I got about five years ago have nearly died, boo)

Juicy Couture, Viva La Juicy
Me and Zena leopard necklace

Make up bag, Topshop

Colour Couture nail collection
(15 polishes, woo)

I want to start baking yummy things!

Love them.

My sister bought me this cute tee.
From this website

Body shop bits, Fearne's Glossy Lips,
Models Own in Pink Fizz

I didn't take pictures of everything as it would start to get boring but I also got a lovely dress from New Look that I will post about. I also got DVDs, leopard print slippers, socks, pink smarties, a Cath Kidston key ring and other bits and bobs so I am a very happy girl!

I'm off shopping tomorrow to return things and find some bargains but I dread to think how busy it's going to be so good luck to me! I hope everyone had wonderful Christmasses and were lucky like me.

Thanks for reading as always.

beauty

I have decided to write a post about something that I really love.

I didn't take Art for GCSE or A Level and I really regret it now because I was pretty good at it and I'm a creative person and feel like I may have gone down the wrong route. I'm sure there's a lot of you out there that will understand what I'm saying; I just feel like I was too young to decide at about fourteen what route I wanted to go down, even though there's plenty of time for me to change. Anyway, lets not go into politics.

So I had to find another way of getting creative so I started going to an art class every weekend, where I get to create clay sculptures. I must have started when I was about thirteen, I'm not really sure. That's now about seven years ago and it will probably be time I move on soon but I still love going and I really feel like I have made strong progress over the years. Anyway one of my more recent pieces gave me inspiration to post this because I love it, I've called her 'Beauty', I hope you enjoy this random post!

(I apologise in advance for the ugly big size of the pictures but it helps to see the sculpture)

I don't want you to bore you with the technical information but this piece is what's called a 'relief' which I think  simply means a flat sculpture with protruding shapes and curves to create a 3D effect. This is not my own idea, I have used an American artist's piece, Bill Mack (who's is better obviously).

Hoping the 3D is clearer in this picture!

So if people respond well to this post then I might post some of my other pieces!

the girl in the striped dress

It feels really good to be doing an outfit post, I haven't done one in ages and I'm pleased with how my pictures turned out which is very unusual. I'm still getting used to all the settings on my new(ish) camera.

I only have a week left at Uni till Christmas and I'm so excited, but I should probably be thinking about getting an assignment done which is in for Friday, doh!

My outfit for today's post is quite simple but sometimes simple is good right?
After mentioning it in my last post, I actually went and bought my first MAC product and got the Pink Plaid lipstick and I'm so happy I did, I've been wearing it nearly every day since (and you can see it).

You will also get to see my new handbag which I got from a charity shop for £4 which I think is amazing! I'm a bit obsessed with bags, it's 'my thing' and when I was little everyone used to call me The Bag Lady, oh yes.

The coat I am wearing is actually from Primark and I got it in their sale for £10 which is also pretty good. I wore my Missguided cardi with the dress when I went out in the cold.

Anyway I'll get on with it now...

Dress: Topshop
Cute watch: Urban Outfitters

Lipstick: MAC Pink Plaid

(Excuse the stupid shot, it was the only way to get the bag in)
Bag: Charity shop, £4!!

Coat: Primark

I hope you enjoyed reading my post!

I just wanted to add that I apoligise for being slow with replying to comments on my blog but I can't do it on my laptop so I have to do it on my phone which is more awkward but I read all my comments and really appreciate them so thank you.

Who's excited for Christmas, cause I am!?

what's in yours?

I've been wanting to do a post about my make-up for a long time and now I have a staple routine I thought it was time to share what's in my make-up bag! I really need to start blogging more regularly but I always feel like I don't have the time, but I must make time! I'm feeling so festive now, I'm beyond excited for Christmas, I had times in my early teens when I really didn't enjoy Christmas much but I'm so happy with everything now that I love it. Anyway moving on to my make-up, I really need a new make-up bag, and I've found a lovely one in Topshop so I might have to purchase it but it will probably be better after Christmas as that would be naughty of me! I hope you enjoy this post..

Maxfactor Creme Puff, 81 Truly Fair
I've used this pressed powder for as long as I can remember, it does smell a bit grannyish when you first open it as it has a strong perfumed scent but it does what it says on the tin and I think the shade 81 is right for me. I do want to try some others out and I've heard good things about Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder so I might try it out as it's cheaper than this one but I do love this powder.

17 (Boots) blusher, Pluff Plum
I've also used this for a very long time as I really love the colour and it's not glittery, it's pretty matte. It gives me a rosy cheeked look rather than a bronzed one as I think my skin tone works best with blush. Again I would be happy to try other blushes out and I've read the Natural Collection blushes are good and pretty cheap. This 17 blush is also cheap and I'm really happy with how long it lasts.

Ecotools Blush Brush
I have only recently invested in one of these to apply my blusher and I love it! I've wanted one for a long time and I'm glad I bought it. It is so soft and it applies my blusher exactly where and how I want it. I would definately recommend the Ecotools collections and I really think they are worth the £7 odd price tag.

Maybelline Super Stay 24h, Ivory
I've never been completely happy with foundations and I would love to invest in a decent brand like MAC but for now I'm going to stick to the cheaper brands. Although, when I got the link for this foundation, I realised it was more expensive than I thought I paid. This is the first time I've bought this foundation and I'm pretty pleased with it. Although it's the lightest colour in the range (I think), I find it really dark but once it's blended in it looks pretty flawless. I don't find it too sticky or greasy so in that respect it's really good but I would like a better shade.

Maxfactor False Lash Effect Fusion Volume & Length, Black
Cor what a long title! I normally buy a different Maxfactor mascara but it was becoming quite expensive and a couple of my friends recommended this one and I do really like it. I definately think it adds length and volume so I would buy it again.

Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Liner, Black
Another long name! My boyfriend's mum actually gave me this to try as she got it for free and I'm so happy she did because my make-up routine changed because of this. I used to use pencil eye liner but it never stayed on long and I always poked my eye. This is in between a liquid and pencil eye liner and it's truly amazing. It took me a while to get used to but now I can't get enough. It's lasting a long time, but the brush is slightly ruined and I don't really know what to do about it. But overall I would recommend everyone try this and for around £8 I still think its so worth it!

Natural Collection Eye shadow, Midnight
This black eye shadow is so worth the money at just over £1! I normally always wear this on my lids because I find eye liner is not enough. It's nearly jet black but not quite but you can keep going with the layers to enhance it. If anyones looking for a decent eye shadow to create a smokey eye effect then I definately recommend this one.

So they aren't the most expensive products but they do what I like and I'm happy with them. I would love to get more expensive foundation one day but I'm worried I'll get hooked and won't be able to afford it every time it needs renewed.

I would love to hear anyone's alternative suggestions?

take me to tiffanys

This is actually my first scheduled post because I was so in the mood to post on Sunday night so I thought I would post it in a couple of days rather than post two posts in one night. I really want to start taking outdoor pictures but I would have to get someone to take the photos and that makes me nervous but I really need to experiment with this.

I absolutely love my outfit in these pictures, I feel really happy with my wardrobe at the moment, I've been going shopping so much recently that it would be bad for my not to be happy. I really need to stop spending now Christmas is on the way.

I feel really classy in this outfit for some reason, I think it has a bit of a retro feel to it and I feel almost Audrey Hepburn esque even though I don't look like her! I am so happy with my new coat, I had walked past the H&M window and thought "ohh i like that" but my boyfriend dragged me a way and I'm glad he did because I found it for half the price last week so it was only £20 which I think is amazing! I actually like the coat undone too which is normally rare and the fur can be detached, so in love!

Coat: H&M
Jeans: Topshop
Wedged Boots: Primark

I love my £1 hair bun at the moment because it's so easy and I love how good it looks. My hair bun has been a joke with me and my friend as I bought a white one because I didn't realise they even did brown ones so I must purchase one even though I can normally hide the bun pretty well!

I apoligise for this posey picture, I was really struggling to get a full length shot and this was the best one. I must invest in a camera tri pod because I take photos using a stall and a mini drawers at the moment and it isn't ideal!

Top: H&M
Cardi: H&M
Belt: Primark
Jeans: Topshop
Boots: Primark
I bought these gorgeous boots last year in the sale in Primark, at the time I thought they were pricey for Primark at £15 even in the sale but I am so glad I bought them because I love them and they are so worth the money. They are a size too big because they didn't have my size but I just wear an extra pair of socks and tie the shoe laces up tight and they are so comfy which is an added bonus!

Primark

These were my favourite nails last week, I love how cute they are and they made me happy when I looked at them. The white is just a Rimmel nail tip polish and the cute purple is Barry M, Berry. I have since painted my nails white with black polka dots (previously posted about) and I had about five compliments at work today from customers, from both men and women so that made me smile.

Barry M, Berry
Rimmel, Nail Tip Whitener

I hope you have enjoyed reading my blog!
Would love to hear from you.

a blog award

I've so kindy been given this award by Emily who's got a great blog so go check it out!

I have also received another reward but haven't got round to posting about it, such a slacker!

I'm so grateful to recieve these little awards because I really haven't been doing this long so thank you!

RULES

1. You have to thank the person that gave you the award and a link back to there blog.

2. Then you have to share 7 facts about yourself.

3. You then have to send the award on to 15 other bloggers whose blogs that you appreciate and then let them know that they have been given the award.

So my seven facts are:

1. I'm only a teeny 5ft which can really make or break my outfits

3. I've loved Mcfly since I was about 12
4. I'm a pretty good sculptor (I'm planning on blogging about this soon)
5. I dream about owning a pug, I cannot wait to have my own place and have a 'pug saving jar'
6. I love nothing more than putting my PJs on ASAP, having a cuppa and snuggling down to watch crap tv
7. I'm slightly obsessed with food and ask what's for dinner when I wake up!

I'm going to be cheeky like Emily and only pass this on to five because I'd be here all day if I was to do fifteen!

So the five lovely bloggers I'm passing this award onto are:

autumn leaves

I have been so out of the blogging circuit lately, I've had a lot going on recently and haven't had time to do outfit pictures. I took these pictures last week and the more I look at the pictures, the less I like my outfit but I wanted to show you my new jumper which I bought in Tesco for only £10 as it was on offer! I have been shopping so much recently and bought two coats in three days so I've said to myself that I have to stop and put anything I would like on my Christmas list instead.

I am sooo excited for Christmas, I love getting together with my family, playing games, eating lovely food and of course opening presents! I'm hoping to get new GHDs from my parents because I've had my latest ones for about five years now so I think it's time I get some nice shiny new ones.

I can't wait to show you my new coats and the other new bits I have recently bought! I'm planning on doing a nail post next as I have a few nail photos to share with you because I have been loving my nails lately!

Jumper: F&F Tesco
Dress: H&M
Tights: Sainsburys

The jumper colour hasn't really pictured very well, it seems very orange in the last picture but it's a deep orangey/red in real life. I love this colour because it reminds me of the fallen leaves in Autumn.

Anyway I hope to share my latest purchases with you soon.
Thanks for reading as always!

she's so cinderella

I've finally finished one of my assignments today which is in for this week but I've still got to write another one so I have a quick window to post! I went to a firework display yesterday and then I went out for my friend's birthday and I found it quite comical how my outfit and look completely transformed. I thought I would share my almost 'before and after' photos with you because I'm sure you'll find it pretty funny too, as my boyfriend and I did.

Ok so this is my frumpy farmer look which I wore to my local firework display:
Hat: H&M
Coat: New Look
Scarf: Miss Selfridge

And this is my almost Cinderella transformation for my night out:

Dress: Peacocks
Bag: (A little shop in Brighton, called JuJu I think)
Socks: Asos
Wedges: New Look
I love this outfit I have to admit, I love the classic shape of this dress and it was only about £20 when I bought it. I also thought I would go for socks with my swede wedges to add a little something. They are really cute up close as they are lacy with a frill but you can't really appreciate them or my wedges in this picture unfortunately! I bought this lovely little bag years ago in Brighton and it's been my little treasure ever since.

Who else thinks with a little bit of make up and quick change, we can transform so comically?

let's get shirty.

I haven't blogged in so long, I have been trying to get uni essays done and seem to have a lot going on at the moment but I'm trying to be better!

Shirt: Primark
Top: H&M
Belt: Primark
Jeggings (which you can't see): M&S

I have recently been really wanting a checked shirt because I love how versatile they are so I dug an old Primark shirt out of my wardrobe. It's actually too small for me now so I decided to leave it undone. I curled my hair with the Babyliss Curling Wand, I'm still not sure about it as I haven't had it very long and I don't feel like I've got my desired effect just yet.

I've done some window shopping and picked some of my favourite shirts and I'm going to share them with you. Enjoy!

I've also painted my nails ombre style as I have wanted to do this for ages. I think the colours could be better but I just had to use what I have!

From thumb to pinky: Rimmel 60 secs Funtime Fushia, No7 Me!Me!Me!,

I hope you have enjoyed reading.

fur fun

Fur Collar: H&M
Leather Jacket: Primark
Top: All Saints
Leggings: Primark

This is quite a late night post for me but I really wanted to share my faux fur collar with you which I wore today because I love it SO much and I keep wearing it. I just love how it's so easy to wear and it's so cute but sofisticated. I have put the link above but I think it was £12.99 which I personally think is well worth it. It's got a lovely silk lining and it has a clip to clasp the two ends together.

I'm also wearing my orangey/red leggings which were £3 from Primark and I have worn them a few times as they are a nice alternative to my usual boring black leggings. I have always wanted coloured jeans/trousers but I find with my biggish legs they really don't flatter me or fit me nicely so these are a lovely substitute. Although they are quite thin on the bum, they are pretty good quality.

Anybody else loving the fur at the moment?

candy cotton

Oh dear I haven't posted in a while, I apologise for this but I have been very busy with uni work and I've had a really bad cold the last few days.

Since last posting, I have been shopping again and I bought a cute playsuit and a lovely dress from Urban Outfitters. As I am so impatient and can't wait to do an outfit post, below is the picture I took of the dress in the changing room. I just love the polka dots and think it's a really flattering shape for me.

Collection 2000 Cream Puff

From left to right: Cotton Candy, Fairy Cake, Angel Delight

The gorgeous nail colour:
Barry M Dusky Mauve
Moving on..this post is going to be my first make-up post as I wanted to share the brilliant Collection 2000 Cream Puff with you. I never normally buy products by Collection 2000 but I heard that their new lip cream was really worth buying. It comes in four shades...Cotton Candy, Fairy Cake, Powder Puff and Angel Delight. Because these lip creams are only £2.99 I actually have three of the colours already, the one I don't have is Powder Puff. When I first looked at the product, I thought it looked like a lipgloss but it's completely different. I would say that it is in between a lip stick and a gloss. It's got a smooth (obviously creamy) texture and it has a matt finish which is what I really like about it. It does have a very synthetic smell but I don't think that's worth worrying about. Below I have pictured myself wearing the three shades I have and rated them out of ten.

Cotton Candy: 10/10
I love this shade so much, I've actually been wearing it in my recent posts if you can spot it. I love the pinky/purple shade but I also love the fact it is subtle so I can wear it everyday but it still look like I've made an effort!

Fairy Cake: 6/10
I do like this shade and I have worn it out but it hasn't photographed very well (although maybe that's my face). I would give it more but it is quite orangey, I wish it was more of a subtle coral shade.

Angel Delight: 1/10
You can clearly see that this colour does nothing for me, it drains my colour and really doesn't suit me. I'm not saying it won't suit you though. This is my least favourite.

Overall I would give this product a 9/10 and totally recommend it. I would give it a ten but I don't know how long it is going to last but then I suppose it is only £2.99. I will definately try out Powder Puff and continue to buy Cotton Candy as it's my favourite.

Have any of you tried out this cream puff or have any other similarly great products?

another day, another dollar

Cardigan: Topshop
Top: Primark
Belt: Primark
Shorts: DIY

So I've been at work all day today and the uni week starts tomorrow, I feel like I don't stop at the moment but I should probably stop moaning! I wore this outfit to uni the other day, it's pretty simple so I added my beloved leopard print cardigan. I bought it from Topshop a couple of years ago and I remember paying £30 and feeling really guilty about spending that amount of money on a thin cardigan but I'm glad I did because I love wearing it and luckily leopard print is still in!
I went shopping (again) yesterday and bought a few essentials but I also managed to find a lovely faux fur collar/scarf in H&M. My boyfriend said he 'didn't get it' but I LOVE it so I can't wait to post about it. I bought a fur snood in H&M last year but I've never been able to wear it because it's ridiculously chunky and fluffy!

I have also got my eye on a lovely faux fur coat in H&M but they didn't have my size so I will be hunting that down soon.

Anybody else obsessed with shopping or is it just me?

pulp fashion

So this is probably going to be a short/quick post as I am trying to finish some English reading that needs to be done by tomorrow (the bane of my life at the moment). I have been taking outfit pictures but not actually posting about them so I may post them soon if I think they are worth sharing.

I went to Lakeside shopping centre the other day as it is pretty close to me and it pretty huge. It's basically a class lower than Bluewater shopping centre if any of you know either. My main goal was to search through the three floors of Primark they have there. I had recently taken a trip to Primark and bought a zebra pattern onesie which is truly one of my favourite things now because I love wearing my PJs (probably put them on as early as I can) so this is just another item to add to my comfort wear! I wasn't particularly successful in Lakeside Primark, probably only because it's so huge that I started to feel like it was becoming a chore to find something good. I did however find this gem of a leather jacket! I already have a leather jacket with fur around the collar which I love but I really wanted one without fur, just to be able to have the choice. It was only £20 and it's pretty good quality so I'm very chuffed. I had a bit of a disaster trying to find my size as they had every size but a ten. I really wanted the eight as it was so fitted but that was the problem it was too fitted that I probably wouldn't have been able to get a cardigan underneath. I walked out of the shop feeling pretty down that they didn't have my size but for some reason I went back about twenty minutes later and guess what...they had one ten! It was destiny...

Jacket: Primark
Tunic: Topshop
Scarf: Miss Selfride
I wore this outfit when I went to see the Cirque Eloize iD show last night which is basically a French dance/circus group doing a two hour show of amazing acrobatic tricks and some beautiful dancing. I would say that I was slightly disappointed with the urban dancing when it happened so I didn't think they needed to have that but overall I had a great night.

Uma in Pulp Fiction
I recently watched Pulp Fiction and I felt inspired by Uma Thurman's nails in the film. She wore a beautiful dark blood red colour and from then on I wanted to try it out for myself. I have noticed the colour becoming popular recently aswell. I raded my mum's nail varnish collection and found Barry M Raspberry and it was the perfect colour for what I was after. I tried taking a picture but it didn't give the colour justice and it made them much brighter than they are. Here's a picture of the nail varnish instead although I've just noticed that you can see it in my outfit pictures.

I hope you have enjoyed reading my post!

i love nail art

I have been so slack at posting recently, my only excuse is beginning my second year of Uni and struggling to juggle the work and my blog. I have taken a break from my (tiresome) reading to write a new post though. I apoligise also for not replying to my latest comments, I will check them all out shortly and aim to regularly reply. I have got to learn to multi task better!

My beloved nail collection!
My title is so brilliant again...not! It does what it says on the tin though, I do love nail art. I would say that I paint my nails once or twice a week which is probably bad for my nails really. I have noticed that they are quite badly discoloured from lack of oxygen and too much polish but it's a vicious circle now because I don't want horrible looking nails. I have been told that I should do a post about my nails as I have previously posted pictures of them but there's not much to it really. I'll take you through some of my pictures.
(Sorry about the little finger, I bite)
Model's Own Pastel Pink, Model's Own Top Turquoise
Model's Own Pastel Pink, Nails Inc Jermyn Street (I think)

Barry M Berry, Model's Own Pastel Pink
Basically I love the leopard print nail art and I originally saw the technique on the brilliant gemfatale's blog where she gives a handy tip about using eye liner if you don't have a nail pen. I only recently invested in a nail pen as I bought two nail polishes and the nail pen from Model's Own when they had their 50% offer on. Now I have got the nail pen I don't think I will ever go back, it was slightly pricey but it's so easy to use. Gem's leopard print technique has become pretty famous around the blogging world so here is the Youtube tutorial as I couldn't get the exact blog post link. Definately check out Gem's Tuesday Tips as there are some brilliant ones there!

This is the picture which I previously posted and I was asked how I did it. Basically I just painted them white and used the nail pen to do the dots (yes it's that easy). I would definately recommend buying a nail pen if you are into nail art because you can do so much with them, I could have made the dots bigger if I wanted to for example! Again I got this idea from Gem as she posted about another girl's Youtube video on how to use every day items to create polka dots. I love using this technique as you can use all different colours rather than just black (with the nail pen). I would definately recommend the kirby/hair grip idea as this has always worked brilliantly for me.

No7 Me! Me! Me!, Rimmel Nail Tip Whitener
I did my nails like this yesterday as I had a lot of time on my hands, I basically painted my nails with a base coat and I would definately recommend using a base and top coat everytime as it can protect your nails if you are painting them regularly (like moi). I always use the 'Rimmel 5 in 1 Base and Top Coat Total Care Action'. It's about £4 but very worth it. I then painted a coat of No7 Me! Me! Me! which is a lovely colour and then used the Rimmel Tip Whitener which is in the previous picture and painted the corner white. With my nail pen I painted the dots on. I love these nails as it's something different to what I usually do.

I hope you have enjoyed my nail post and I would love to know if you have any great nail ideas of if you try any of these out?
